God’s Missions and Mission Field

8- Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. 9- And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. 10- Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.” (Isaiah 6:8- 10 King James Version)

God wants for us to fulfill or accomplish the mission faithfully and willingly. He prepared for us the unseen vision from others that we may accomplish for His name, honor and glory. We have a mission and it’s not earthly but heavenly. It’s the same mission God pre-ordained and entrusted to Isaiah, and other missionaries in His field that He is calling us to obey and accomplish. He wants for us to go and preach or share the gospel, the good news to every man and woman, to every kids, tongues and nations. (Romans 10:13- 17 KJV)

Millions are living in poverty and in misery all over the world. They are hungry and thirsty for the truth of the Word of God. People are in great spiritual need and God may have been working in their life and in their hearts. But God has to wait for many of us Christians to response to His calling and command for us to “Go”. The keys to the success in reaching the lost souls are obedience to His command and His Word.

And we have a mission field and our mission field will start from our own home and love ones, from our own backyard and neighborhoods, in our community… and to the uttermost parts of the world. Notice what Jesus said to His disciples and to every believer before He went up to heaven, He said; “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 KJV)

Contentment Can Be Learned...

“A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2- He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3- He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.” (Psalms 23:1- 3 King James Version)

Have you ever felt like God was asking you; “What do you really want?” I was asked several times by my children and my wife. And I responded; “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” It’s true to every believers of the Lord Jesus Christ. The more you grow in His grace, the more you put little value of temporal things, and put more value on the things of God. Psalms 23:1 is the Old Testament counterpart of what Paul was talking about in Philippians chapter four verse eleven.

Christian’s have satisfaction, joy and peace, and its source is not of this world but in His Word and in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Shepherd of shepherds is the one who gave us salvation through His shed blood on the cross for our sins. God took away our sins and sinfulness and He changed our heart. That’s the main reason why we have what the world are desperately longing for and missing- Jesus and a changed heart! (II Corinthians 5:17; John 14:26)

God’s Holy Spirit and the truth kept the fleshly and worldly desires, wants and discontentment away from us by His grace. Paul learned to be content and that’s what we need to learn as Christians. Paul hardships, sufferings and imprisonment help him learned to be content. Notice what he wrote from the dungeon and while he was in death row; “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” (Philippians 4:11 KJV)

What Makes Christianity Different From Other Religions in Salvation

3- For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4- And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: (I Corinthians 15:3- 4 King James Version)

What is the meaning of the word “gospel”? According to Apostle Paul the word “gospel” means the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ according to the Scriptures. Believing on what Christ did on the cross 2,000 years ago for eternal life is what made the difference to the unbelieving world and other religious groups. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9- Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8- 9 KJV)

The Christians believe that for anyone who wants to go to heaven; he or she must accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. And to accept Him means to accept His deity or believe in Him as the Son of God and the Savior of the world. You accept what He did on the cross. It may sounds impossible for them to happen as to how it will work, but that’s what the Bible says. And also you have to accept that you are a sinner and repent of your sins. (John 1:12; Acts 16:30- 31; I John 1:7- 10; II Peter 3:9) An atheist or someone who have a religion may find it impossible to just believe in Christ for eternal life in heaven. It made easy for salvation because of the finished work of Christ.

Notice what the Bible says; “8- But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9- That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11- For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12- For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13- For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14- How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? ” (Romans 10:8- 13 KJV)

Fools for Christ’s Sake

“Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19- For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20- And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.” (I Corinthians 3:18- 20 King James Version)

Webster’s Dictionary- “Fool” means “one destitute of reason; a simpleton; a silly person; a buffoon; to play the look; to trifle; to make a fool of; to deceive.”

There’s nothing wrong to have fun, to laugh, smile and enjoy the sun, because the joy-filled hearts drive the burdens and dry bones away, but foolishness and ways that’s out of control and ungodly are the things to beware. We must be happy but avoid the kind of fun which leads to sin and disgrace or the things that displeased the Lord. Young people and young Christians are prone to Satan’s deception and temptation. The enemy has always something enticing to offer to the world of sin. We foolishly follow the fleshly desires of our heart, only to realize at the end that we were fooled by the devil.

Foolishness is a choice and it’s a bad choice that can lead to sin and pain to ourselves and to others. We can be fools for nothing or be fools for the Lord Jesus Christ. You have a choice to be a fool for Satan or be a fool for God and His Word. The foolishness of the world and its pleasures are displeasure in the sight of God. Pleasing the world will not spare you from negative criticism, the same way when you please your Lord and Master. Apostle Paul wrote; “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” (Romans 1:21 KJV)

MI Daily Devotion: Is It Hard to Live by Faith?

MI Daily Devotion: Is It Hard to Live by Faith?: “ But without faith   it is  impossible to please   him : for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and   that  he is a rewarder...

Is It Hard to Live by Faith?

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Proverbs 11:6 King James Version)

Someone asked me years ago, she said; “Pastor. Why is it, it’s just too hard for me to live by faith?” I had that same question recently. But it has been our life or our lifestyle, and we felt the same way. It’s just too hard to trust the Lord and to entrust everything in His hands. Living by faith is like walking in a dark room or in a dark tunnel with just a dot of light ahead of you, and that dot is God. All you have to do is to walk in the dark with your eyes focus on that dot, not knowing where you are leading and what’s on the ground as you take a step of faith. You may fall, but you believe God is with you and He will help you go through all the way until you reach that small dot of light. (Psalm 116:1- 12)

How about the wealthy and those who are in the jungle, do they need faith? Who needs faith when things are going great and well, and when you have everything in your hands anyways? Why live by faith when your bank account is fine? Why step and walk by faith when you have everything under control, and you have the power to turn your own wheel to the direction you wanted to? The business may be doing well, your stock is on the rise, and you’re healthy as a cow? But how about your faith, is it strong? The writer of the book of Hebrews gave us light on why we need to live by faith, and in everything we do must be by faith and not according to the flesh.

Apostle Paul wrote; “For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31- Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32- For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.” (Romans 11:30- 32 KJV)

Trust in Jesus

“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23- For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24- Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:22- 24 King James Version)

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2- For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3- Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” (Hebrews 11:1- 3 KJV)

Religion and Politics

Religion and Politics

According to Henry C. Thiessen; “The term “religion” is used in the greatest number of ways imaginable. It can be used in a very general sense of any adoration or service of God, a god, or gods. It can be expressed in certain forms of worship to God or a god. It can be devotion or faithfulness to anyone or anything. More specifically, it can refer to some particular system of faith and worship.” (Henry C. Thiessen Lectures in Systematic Theology, Revised by: Vernon D. Doerksen)

Politics and politicians are sometimes placed in the pedestal by people and by those who adored them dearly. They become their religion by the way they treated and accept them. They (politicians) became the center of their being and they put them before God. They trade God, His truth and righteousness in the name of the party, their politicians and political correctness. It’s also because they are always looking forward to the coming election such as what we have this coming November.

What is a Midterm Election?

This coming November 4, 2014 is the Midterm Election in the United States of America. But what is a Midterm Election? It could be a question for countries whose political processes are different from the USA, Philippines, and Liberia. But to give light to the question; Midterm Election is a very crucial election in the USA. It is called the general elections. It is crucial due to the changes it may bring on the table by the new elected candidates from all parties. It can also determine the strength of the current president, and it help molds the future of the country- hopefully for the best. Such election is held two years after the midpoint of the four-year presidential term. The Citizens of the USA elects Federal offices during the midterms which are 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives. The Senators starts and finished on different terms thus, some of the States votes for State Senates on different years. The contests for Governors, the local Mayors and other local offices and ordinances may also be in the ballots.

What’s in it for me?

What’s in it for me? That could be a question for many. What can we gain from being involved in the Midterm Election or in your local or national elections? Whether we like or not, elections will always have an instant effect to the present generation, and it will have a lasting effect to the generations to come in some ways. Midterm election may also help us pre- determine the future presidential election. It is our civic duty, privilege and responsibility to exercise suffrage.

Church and Politics

Politics could be an issue to many churches and religious groups due to traditional and Biblical belief and practices. Some religious groups or extreme conservative Christians don’t believe in Suffrage or don’t want to be involved in politics. Church election of officers and deacons are practiced in the early ages of the Christian church. Although it was not the same process as some churches does, but the principles and essence of choosing the right person for the office in the ministry is obvious. The book of Acts mentioned about the election on the replacement to Judas Iscariot during the times of the disciples. (Acts 1:16- 26 KJV) In many churches, election or suffrage are not practiced for some Biblical issues or teachings that they believe in or adopted in their constitution and church by laws. The pastors or the ministers are in charge in appointing an individual for an office or church position.

As of this writing, many are disappointed of how the country is being run by the current leaders and political parties. Millions of people are complaining and they’re not happy with how the government works for them. The sad part that we see happening in many countries are the terrible situations that they are in, and we don’t want our children or grand children to experience such chaos and violence. The pastors and churches must start working hard, and be involve in the political arena by educating their parishioners about the local and national candidates during the elections. I used to pastor a church in Subic, Zambales which is just about 10 miles away from the largest US military base outside of Mainland USA. During election times I would invite the politicians, pastors, and churches to come to our church for a political rendezvouz, and I made the politicians present their platforms. Afterwards, we open the table for question and answer. It’s also a good time to know the candidates in a very personal way.

Ten Mistakes That I Know are Happening in Every Poll Precinct or It’s Just the Failures of Many Voters All Over the World

  • ·        Some of the religious groups and Christians; they lack the knowledge of what’s going on in the political arena. They are confined in their religious belief, traditional stand, conservatism, and sometimes not being open minded to sociopolitical and current issues.
  • ·        The lack of information regarding political issues to the younger generations, and the lack of political educations to some new immigrants.
  • ·        The voters who voted for a certain candidates were either been tainted with vote buying scam, and because their relationship or friendship is stronger than their personal principles and conviction.
  • ·        The voters’ wrong attitude and personal seriousness to the relevant issues of the land. They end up choosing or electing the wrong person.
  • ·        They voted without knowing the morality, dignity, integrity and political stand of the candidates.
  • ·        They know they are voting for the greedy, ungodly, and selfish politician/s, but they put them in the ballot due to favor given by the said politician/s or because of the favor they may gain from them.
  • ·        The sad part is when the voters will go to the poll booth not ready. You have to write down the lists of the good, honest, patriotic, and integrity driven politicians.
  • ·        Voting by emotion is very tragic in many elections all over the world. They heard a loud “Hoooray!” being addressed to the politician/s on television, on the radio or political rally. Some may think that the loud “Hoooray!” was an approval or a “Thumbs Up” for the candidates. It’s sad, really sad because some of those politicians were opposite from what they thought they were. Some turned into a vicious, proud, boastful, dictator and destroyer of lives and countries.
  • ·        People are voting as if it all depends on the promises and the changed the next person seated in office may bring in…
  • ·       It’s ironic if people are voting for a change not knowing what kind of change do they really want for the country? I heard this political ads since I was a kid, and it’s all the same political cycle. The changed came but not for the good, or for the sake of the country, but for the best and advantage of the political party.

Vote for My Candidates

May we go out and vote! And please be sure to vote wisely, with prudence, and vote discreetly. Please do me a favor by voting for my candidate. He/she is a God fearing individual and loves his/her family. Integrity and dignity is the banner of the party. Love for our country, and being patriotic about it is what it meant to be in politics. He/she reach out to the poor and needy, and more than willing to cross the aisle if it is for the good of our country and the people around the world. Their political party does not think of the next election or for their financial strength, power and personality, but for their constituents who looked up to them. Making promises of what they will do if elected is not their main agenda. But they promise to be with you all the way, and be at their best for the good of the community and our country. A party who are not willing to be pulled down by money, friends, or be pressured by indebtedness.

They don't advocate same sex marriage, and to support abortion is out of their way. They are against the use of illegal drugs and marijuana, and will not support the legalization of it. They stand in unity but will not support a bigger government or the socialistic form of government. They’re not the Traditional Politician with Organized Propaganda and with Money- Armory and Notoriety- (T- POP MAN). You may not see them on your TV screen or hear them on the radio because they are a neophyte and a low budget politicians. But I assure you; they are willing to serve our country, and it's easy to replace them on the next election if they messed up.
I am not a Republican, Democrat or Independent. I am a concern citizen of the United States of Americal and I love freedom and democracy. I will stand with Allegiance for Democracy And Morality (ADAM) as long as I live. May I ask you to choose him/her and tell your friends about my candidates. I don't have their names, but if you will take time to check on the lists of the candidates in this coming election; their profile will tell you- they’re the right person in office! Vote for him/her!

MI Daily Devotion: The Starting Point to a Christ- Centered Life

MI Daily Devotion: The Starting Point to a Christ- Centered Life: “ I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by...

The Starting Point to a Christ- Centered Life

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20 King James Version)

A Christ centered life must start from being born again believer. (John 3:1- 7) You cannot live a Christ centered life unless you let Him come into your heart first and foremost. It means it must start from the salvation offered to us by God in Christ. It is to accept Christ in your heart as your Savior and Lord. John wrote; “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12 KJV) To believe in Him is a good sign and it’s a step to a life that pleases Him. It means you put your faith in God first instead of trusting someone or on something, and in your positive circumstances. (Proverbs 3:5- 6 KJV)

You confess to God your need of Him and your inability to put things together without Him. You always put Him first in your life, in your decisions, in your finances, at home or at work. He must be the reason and purpose of your life and being. You are determined to please Him in everything, and in every circumstances and success. You must be ready to surrender your life to God! When D. L. Moody heard a Layman preached about surrender, the preacher said: “God has yet to see what God can do to a fully yielded, surrendered man.” D. L. Moody said, “I will be that man”

Christianity is a religion of surrender, because the more you surrender, the more you win the battle. The more you hands up to God, the more you become victorious. The more you let go the more you get to overcome the enemy. The more you give up to God, the more you become closer to God and to the finish line. Jesus said; “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33 KJV)

Don’t Disable the Communication Line to God!

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8- For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:7- 8 King James Version)

No one wants to have a problem with their cell phone. Or no one wants to receive the incoming call, but I can’t make an outgoing call. You may just treat it like a useless but expensive piece of junk. We don’t just communicate to God by praying to Him, but we must also let Him talk to us by reading and meditating on His Word. We need His revelation and the illumination of the Holy Spirit. No matter how great the promises of God to us are, and no matter how precious the Word of God to us as His children; if we don’t use it and don’t exercise what it says, it would mean nothing to us. The Bible says; “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23- For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24- For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.”
 (James 1:22- 24 KJV)

Notice these great promises of God in the Scriptures; “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21- Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20- 21 KJV) Prayerlessness may disable God’s exceeding abundance blessings for us. And we can disable God’s working power in us and in our churches by disabling our own communication line. Jesus said; “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14- If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:13- 14 KJV)

In our prayer, we can glorify God and we can make God move in our behalf. We can make God do things for us when we ask in His name and for His glory. Jesus said; “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15:7 KJV)

Your Communication Line with God Must Be Open and Active

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” (Jeremiah 33:3 King James Version)

Christian’s responsibility is to call on God consistently. In Apostle Paul’s words; “Pray without ceasing.” Prayer is the telephone or means of communication to the throne of heaven. If someone needs help and don’t call and ask for help, it means double trouble. Sometimes I would rather work hard and give my all out effort to accomplish something, and not even dare to try to lift up the phone and call for help. It’s a bad attitude, and how much more if we’re doing it to God! Many of us may say; “Yes that’s ironic”, but it’s true. After the creations, God’s desire for men was to communicate on Him and have an intimate relationship with Him. And you may all know that Adam and Eve fell into sin which destroyed man’s relationship with God. I believe when God said, “Call unto me…” It would surely means He wants to keep the communication line open and our relationship with Him intimate and active.

The worst that can happen is we know that we are just a prayer away from the Lord and from a miracle or answer to our prayers, and lack of prayer hindered the blessing. We may be self-sufficient or doubtful and have the spirit of ignoring the importance of prayer, but if we want the touch of God; we must be on our knees crying to God. The Bible says; “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14 KJV)

Love for God and People

“But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?” 18- My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” (I John 3:17- 18 King James Version)

We see people out on the street that are in need of care physically, economically, and most especially spiritually. Some of the greedy politicians are in their personal interest of politicking and using people for their own political advantage. It’s not love that compels them to do good things, and helpful projects for their constituents. I felt sorry for those who have been used and abused by people or politicians.

We need Christian politicians, and philanthropists who would really put wings on their love for mankind. People sometimes would use the word “love” and don’t even mean it. If you love someone, you are willing to sacrifice and make sacrifices for that someone whom you love. God made a sacrifice through His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:16) And Christ sacrificed Himself because of His love for us. (Romans 5:8- 12) The Bible says; “Let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” You will set aside your personal differences, your pride, and insecurity in the name of love. Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy his son in the faith; “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (II Timothy 1:7 KJV)

MI Daily Devotion: From Salvation to Mission!

From Salvation to Mission!

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:3 King James Version)

When we place our faith in God for salvation; He was already there waiting for us to come to Him in repentance and faith. He did the same when He called us for His ministry, and He will do the same if you will follow Him today. What a promise that God has for us. God knows where we can serve Him best, and He knows what He has in stored for us in His kingdom here on earth as well as in heaven. And all we have to do is to obey Him and trust Him for the results.

Do you know God’s principles of mission when God called you to be a part of His kingdom? I did not know that when I followed Him. I do what He wants me to do, and I also followed my heart and passion. Let me answer this question in 2 simple words- “Faith and Obedience”. He wants us to trust Him and obey His will and His Word- the Bible. He wants us to make a big impact in our small world for His honor and glory. He will give you a special touch and lead you to His work and His will. God will give you the confirmation, and you will receive grace from the Lord. God’s timing is the results of His plan for our life. In Psalm 1:3 it says; “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

You have to ask the Lord for the time and place where He would plant you and to where His will for you is. If you want to start the work or ministry in your church; He will give you the grace, the strength, and good foundation. You will be in a place where you could be an influence and be there to touch people’s lives. Notice what David said; “…and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Joshua wrote; “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God iswith thee whithersoever thou goest. (Joshua 1:9 KJV)

Hello,

We are going to the Philippines next year (God willing) for a Mission trip. We are in need of Medical and Dental supplies for our Mission Trip to the Philippines on February 2015. We will also go to Cambodia for an extra trip. We are working with my daughter in law's relatives in Cambodia, with pastors and churches to help out and organize for the success of this trip. We are raising some funds for this and for the Youth Camp. Please help us pray for the needs and for the good harvest. For your Tax Deductible donation, please write your check to International Community Christian Church- MEMO: Mission Trip 2015.

God Owns Everyone and Everything!

“A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Psalms 24:1 King James Version)

The Lord owns the universe and every living thing. Whether there is life in them or they are just a thing; all of them are His creations. “Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.” (Deuteronomy 10:14 KJV) He owns the beasts, the animals and the fishes in the oceans. “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.” (Psalms 50:10 KJV)

There is nothing in this world we can claim as ours for we are just His created being. He can make us great or put us on our knees, because everything is under His feet on earth, in heaven, under the earth and the seas. “Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. 12- Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.” (I Chronicles 29:11-12 KJV)

He can make us rich or give us good health, or He can do the opposite. “The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.” (Haggai 2:8 KJV) “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (II Corinthians 5:10 KJV) “Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2- Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” (I Corinthians 4:1- 2 KJV)

Samson Lost All That He Has

“And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.” (Judges 16:25 King James Version)

The worst experience you may have in a Sunday morning worship service is when you can’t feel the presence of God in the church or in your preaching. If you can’t feel the presence of God in your life, it’s questionable for you. It’s in this story when God left Samson as he dishonor God by not pleasing the Lord who gave him his strength. Samson was brought down to his lowest point. He was humbled by the Lord because of his sin. Samson repented of the sins he committed and was reconciled to God. In the process of time, Samson’s hair began to grow, and he was restored by God. Notice verse 22, “Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven.” Those were the days when Samson began to feel the presence of God again.

In verse “30- And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.” So, when Samson prayed to God for strength; God granted his prayer and got his strength back. Samson destroyed the whole house full of people. We have redemption, regeneration, and restoration with God, and we can re-claim the victory. Take the advice of Apostle Paul: “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58- “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." (I Corinthians 15: 57- 58 KJV)

Rebellion of “I” “Me” “My” and Et al…

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23- For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” (I Samuel 15:22- 23 King James Version)

We are all guilty of the sin of rebellion. We know Adam and Eve committed the sin of rebellion when they disobey God, and when they let pride overcome them by yielding to Satan’s temptation according to Genesis chapter three verses one to twenty four. An acronym for “REBELLIOUS” may give us a good picture of most of the attitude of people from the past, and the present generation.
R- Rebellious to God, to parents, and to authorities.
E- Envious and Erratic in life, in attitude, and in their ways.
B- Bad, and Bullies others for self gratification or enjoyment.
E- Eludes the truth for personal interest.
L- Loyalty is questionable- in friendship, organization, church, and family.
L- Libelous in nature and Lack of God’s wisdom.
I- Irrational in decision making.
O- Oppressive in dealing with people.
U- Usurping authority and power.
S- Selfish, self- centered, self- willed, and showy or hypocrite.
(Jeremiah 5:23; Isaiah 30:9; 65:2; Jeremiah 4:17)

“23- Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice. 24- Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you. (Deuteronomy 9:23- 24 KJV)

You Alone (Lord) Can Help Us with Our Trials and Sufferings...

This Devotional is Dedicated to My Son Ely Dumala Sagansay on His Birthday, Today. He is the Vocalist in This Video File.

"9- On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him: 10- But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. 11- My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. 12- Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. 13- But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth. 14- For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him." (Job 23:9- 14 King James Version)

"For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." (Psalm 30:5 KJV)

Why Do We Have Bad Times and Bad Days?

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 King James Version)

It’s an interesting question for the general public. Christians are not spared of bad times and bad days. We are living in a world where evil and wickedness are a norm and common. We are still in the flesh and the things that happened, and may happen to us are sometimes beyond our control. Everything that happens to a believer has a purpose unless you did something in the flesh or something that which was according to what the devil and the world dictates. But we can still be positive even if it is out of control, disturbing, discouraging and destructive. The reason is on the testimony of King David when he said; “This is the day that the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

I know it’s not easy, but notice what Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:4, he said; “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.” You see, it’s even harder and difficult to live with, especially if you’re in a very tough time of your life. This verse is harder to put into practice because of the word “alway”. Imagine in whatever financial, physical, and other discouraging situation you are in, Paul said; “Rejoice in the Lord alway…” We can place our bad days, difficulties, discouragement and everything in the hands of God knowing that He never makes mistake. Apostle Paul wrote; “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (I Thessalonians 5:18 KJV)

The Afflictions and Sufferings in Life are Common Cycles

“5- And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6- For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7- If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8- But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.” (Hebrews 12:5- 8 King James Version)

I have the toughest years in my life as a minister, and I believe you have your tough years, difficult months or bad days too. Some people lost some financial support or help, while others may have lost their dearest love ones in the family. Many are struggling being months behind in their mortgage or other bills. The comfort of telling them about the love of God seems to be from a distance, and out of reality. If you are in a situation like this; you can easily felt like you’re losing your self-worth, self confidence or determination, and your motivation. Remember that such situations are common not only in the 3rd world countries, in some develop nations, and even in countries like the USA and United Kingdom.

On my part, by the grace of God, I never asked for money from love ones or friends for my personal needs. I just pray and trust the Lord. As a minister, I know and I believe that I always represent my Lord. It is my personal conviction and preference; it’s not engraved in stones. But it is always the will of God for us to pray, and to trust Him for every need. Apostle Paul went through the same afflictions, needs, struggle, and even worst sufferings as Christ’s disciple. (Philippians 4:11- 19) Apostle Paul struggled in many areas of his life, especially when he was in prison. Notice his only material desire while in prison; “The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.” (II Timothy 4:13 KJV)
