Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 31:1 KJV
[1] The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

"Mothers" are the most neglected and unappreciated in many homes. They (mothers) are also the most influential member in the family or home.

I- Mothers are special- Deuteronomy 5:16 KJV [16] Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

II- Mothers served with love- 1 Samuel 2:19 KJV [19] Moreover his mother made him a little coat, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.

III- Mothers are selfless and filled with sorrow- 1 Chronicles 4:9 KJV [9] And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 30:1 KJV
[1] The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,

The "3 P's" is what this whole world needs. God have worked, will work, and will still work through this- "3 P's"; although the law and the prophets were until John only, but we have preachers. (Luke 16:16; Matthew 11:13)

I- The people (the lost souls) that need the Word of God- Matthew 4:4 KJV
[4] But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

II- The (prophets) and preachers and Christians that spread the Word of God.- Acts 28:23 KJV [23] And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. (Matthew 28:18- 20; Romans 1:13- 16)

III- The prophecy (message, the gospel) that needs to be spread- 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:-  By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 29:1 KJV
[1] He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

"Remedy"- everything has remedy and everyone are looking for remedy for something... but there is only one remedy for our spiritual need and conditions.

I- The remedy for our sin- Romans 6:23 KJV
[23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

II- The remedy of our Savior (His death on the cross)- Romans 5:8 KJV [8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

III- The remedy is for our salvation - Romans 5:10 KJV [10] For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

[17] And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

"This is the true miracle on which all other miracles stand or fall. If this is true, then all other miracles is true." The British philosopher John Locke said; "Our Savior's resurrection is truly of great importance in Christianity. So great that His being or not being the Messiah stands or falls with it; so that these two important articles are inseparable and in effect make one. For since that time, believe one and you believe both, deny one of them and you can believe neither."

The resurrection and our belief on the existence of God- Acts 2:22 KJV [22] Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Acts 2:23 KJV
[23] Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Acts 2:24 KJV [24] Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.- By Ely Roque Sagansay

The opportunists are those who just want to enjoy God's blessings but they refused to serve Him. The complainers are the people who just see the hardships, the trials, the problems, the negative issues in life, but they don't appreciate life and all the greatness in life. They only see the black side of life but they don't see Jesus behind the scenes working in them and through them. The religious crowd will exercise religion and celebrate the death of Jesus, but they refuse to recognize and accept the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ- the true gospel which brings forgiveness of our sins.

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 24:1 KJV
[1] Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

Envy and jealousy are 2 words that are everybody's enemy but could be someone else's friends at church, at home or someone else's best friends in his/her life.

I- To be envious is to be the devil's friend- Psalm 37:1 KJV [1] Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

II- To be envious is to be divisive and a failure- Matthew 27:18 KJV [18] For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. Acts 13:45 KJV [45] But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. (I Corinthians 3:3)

III- To be envious is to be destructive and a fake- Mark 15:10 KJV [10] For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Proverbs 23:1 KJV
[1] When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:

Sitting means "to be in a position in which your bottom is resting on a chair, the ground, etc., especially with your back upright." - Merriam/Webster Dictionary

I- To sit means to rest- Exodus 31:15 KJV
[15] Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord : whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

II- To sit means to refresh- Exodus 31:17 KJV
[17] It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

III- To sit means to refine or restore- Malachi 3:3 KJV [3] And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 22:1 KJV
[1] A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

"Riches" is one of the most overused, and most desired word in human history, but it can also be the most mistaken word in humans' mind set. The 3 things to remember about "riches":

I- Riches is temporary in this world- Matthew 6:19 KJV [19] Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

II- Riches is your most treasured wealth- Matthew 6:20 KJV [20] But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: Matthew 6:21 KJV [21] For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

III- Riches is the truth of the Word of God- Psalm 19:10 KJV [10] More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.-  By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 21:1 KJV
[1] The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord , as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

The heart of man (both physical and spiritual) is full of mystery. It's filled with things that are pleasing to God and man, and at the same time; it is also the throne of self, Satan or of our Savior and sin. But the heart of man is definitely...

I- Deceitful above all things- Jeremiah 17:9 KJV [9] The heart is deceitful above all things , and desperately wicked: who can know it?

II- Dead to sin- Ephesians 2:1 KJV [1] And you hath he quickened , who were dead in trespasses and sins;

III- Defile- Mark 7:23 KJV [23] All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. (Mark 7:21- 23)- - By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 19:1 KJV
[1] Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

When that day comes where life has to come to an end; we will all stand in the presence of a holy God; the question here on earth of our love ones may just be the same as of those who were around us- "Did he or she lives his or her life in integrity and dignity or with honesty?".

I- Integrity must be our greatest legacy for our family- 1 Kings 9:4 KJV [4] And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

II- Integrity might be the outcome of a Godly life, of faith and fear in God- Job 2:3 KJV (3] And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

III- Integrity may help us overcome greed and lust of the flesh- Psalm 26:1 KJV [1] Judge me, O Lord ; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord ; therefore I shall not slide. (Proverbs 25:21)- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 15:1 KJV
[1] A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Wrath is a dreadful word or a scary word to think about. It always sends a negative message. It sends a message that may not be pleasing to our ears. Thus, "wrath" is something someone wouldn't want to hear.

I- Wrath reminds us of anger- Deuteronomy 9:7 KJV [7] Remember, and forget not, how thou provokedst the Lord thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the Lord .

II- Wrath is revengeful or an abrupt action or reaction-  Numbers 11:33 KJV [33] And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord smote the people with a very great plague.

III- Wrath is a retribution and awful in nature - 2 Chronicles 34:25 KJV [25] Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched.- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 14:1 KJV
[1] Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

One of the political issues that are in the main menu of this year's debate is women's rights and salary. We were created equal by God, but many liberals are more leaning on man' s superiority and power over women. Other religious groups are not into making women be on the same class and level as men. For them, women are second class citizens. But women;

I- They are wise builders- Ruth 4:11 KJV
[11] And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The Lord make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Beth-lehem:

II- They are workers and a blessing- Exodus 36:6 KJV [6] And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing.

III- They are winners but burden helpers- Exodus 3:22 KJV [22] But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 13:1 KJV
[1] A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

Who are the wise? How can one be considered wise? Is there a need to be in a good process in life to make one wise? Does education makes one wise? These are some of the questions many are asking about wise people and to be in an honorable state- wise.

I- The wise are the saved through the preaching of God's Word- 2 Timothy 3:15 KJV [15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (I Corinthians 1:17- 31; Romans 1:15- 22)

II- The wise are the stewards who perform God's work- Luke 12:42 KJV [42] And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? (II Corinthians 11:19; I Corinthians 4:10; Matthew 24:45)

III- The wise are the soul winners and the propagator of God's Word- Proverbs 11:30 KJV [30] The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 11:1 KJV
[1] A false balance is abomination to the Lord : but a just weight is his delight.

The word "false" was used in this verse in reference to balance. It is very unfortunate to witness people having false notion on many things. Some have false faith, false assumptions, false expectations and false love. We may also have:

I- False Hope - Job 8:13 KJV [13] So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish: (Job 31:24

II- False Humility - Colossians 2:18 KJV [18] Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, (Colossians 2:23; I Peter 5:5)

III- False Holiness - Matthew 7:15 KJV [15] Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (Matthew 24:11- 24)

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 10:1 KJV
[1] The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

Joy and gladness are 2 synonymous words but in its Biblical or spiritual meaning, it's different. We associate the word "glad" most of the times to church and worship; but it actually can be use to the positive attitude of a son, a daughter or individual.

I- A son or daughter can make a father or mother glad- Luke 15:32 KJV [32] It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

II- Our strength in God can make us glad and glory in infirmities- 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV
[9] And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (II Corinthians 13:9)

III- The suffering for Christ can fill us with gladness and joy- 1 Peter 4:13 KJV
[13] But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. -  By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 9:1 KJV
[1] Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:

"Pillars" in construction site is called "The structures that connects from foundation...", in business they're the CEOs, presidents or investors, in church' (lingo), they are the pioneers, in the Scriptures;

I- It could mean the "Pillars of Faith"- Galatians 2:9 KJV [9] And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

II- It could mean the "Pillars of Fellowship"- Acts 2:42 KJV [42] And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (I Corinthians 1:9)

III- It could mean the "Pillars of Freedom"- Romans 6:22 KJV [22] But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. (Romans 6:7- 20)- )- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 8:1 KJV
[1] Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

Understanding must be a two way pipeline for everybody. We must not only desire and expect to receive understanding from a friend and family, we must also learn to understand others.

I- We must be filled with the spirit of understanding - Exodus 35:31 KJV [31] And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; (Exodus 31:3)

II- We must be faithful in seeking ways to understand others - 1 Kings 3:11 KJV [11] And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; (I Kings 3:9- 12)

III- We must be flexible and not be selfish in understanding others- Proverbs 17:27 KJV

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 6:1 KJV
[1] My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,

"Stranger"- who are the strangers in this world? You will see, notice, and hear strange things from strangers. Technically, spiritually, and culturally we are all strangers to strangers...

I-  We are strangers in God's sight and promised- Hebrews 11:13 KJV [13] These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them , and embraced them , and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. (Ephesians 2:12)

II- We are strangers in God's showcase and power- Exodus 9:16 KJV [16] And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth. (Jeremiah 33:3)

III- We are strangers in God's stronghold and  provision - Nahum 1:7 KJV [7] The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. (I Chronicles 29:19)- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 5:1 KJV
[1] My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:

Wisdom is one of the most important, and a priceless possession a leader, a pastor, an evangelist, a business person, an ordinary citizen, and a parent could ever have. Wisdom is essential! You may be- or may have...

I- Lack of Wisdom- James 1:5 KJV [5] If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (Daniel 2:20- 23)

II- Loss of Wisdom- Job 4:21 KJV [21] Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom. (Job 28:12; proverbs 3:13; Jeremiah 49:7)

III- Live in Wisdom - Acts 6:3 KJV [3] Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. (Luke 2:40- 52) - By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 4:1 KJV
[1] Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

"Hear and do" could be a good motto or principle to practice. Children may hear their parents or someone with authority say some good things but they (the children) at times refuse to listen or obey. We must hear and listen to:

I- The Holy Spirit that speaks to us the truth - (John 16:13 KJV [13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (I Corinthians 2:13)

II- The Holy Scriptures that is showing us the truth- Luke 24:32 KJV [32] And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures? (Luke 24:45; John 5:39)

III- The holy servants of God that serves us tirelessly- Zechariah 1:6 KJV [6] But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us. Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 3:1 KJV
[1] My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

"Heart" is the center of every living soul. Physically and spiritually speaking- our hearts is the driving force that makes our minds and our being think, talk, decides, and move us to the direction to what we may have dreamed of... But our hearts is...

I- Deceitful above all things in this world of Godless society- Jeremiah 17:9 KJV [9] The heart is deceitful above all things , and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Mark 7:21- 23;

II- Decides about the truth of the Word of God with sincerity - Deuteronomy 4:9 KJV [9] Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons; (Deuteronomy 5:29; 6:5- 6; 30:14- 17)

III- Dictates or Do all things (from the heart)- be it in wickedness, Godliness or stubbornness- 2 Chronicles 31:21 KJV
[21] And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered. (2 Chronicles 32:25- 26; Ezra 7:27; Nehemiah 7:5)-  By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 2:1 KJV
[1] My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;

If you think of commandments- some would mean it to be the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament. Although its rightly so, but it could also be the greatest, and the first commandment, the Mosaic laws and Moses' commandments, etc.
I- The commandments were given by God through His prophets- Exodus 24:12 KJV [12] And the Lord said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them. (Deuteronomy 13:4- 18; Acts 1:2)

II- The commandments were given for God's people- John 15:10 KJV [10] If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. (John 14:15- 21; Proverbs 7:1)

III- The commandments were given with God's prosperity, preservation, and promised - Deuteronomy 5:31 KJV [31] But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it. (Deuteronomy 6:1- 25; 30:16)- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 1:1 KJV
[1] The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

David was the greatest king that ever lived. He is the most revered king in the history of Israel. Kings are the ones who control the kingdom and its people. There are kings in our lives that we must know; we must or need to get rid of, or embrace and love.

I- The king or kings in our personal hearts and lives. a) Sin b) Selfishness c) Satan- Psalm 81:12 KJV [12] So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels. (Daniel 11:27; Mark 7:21- 23)

II- The king or kings that people hope for, and live for... 1 Kings 20:31 KJV [31] And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life. (II Kings 3:10- 23)

III- The King of kings and Lord of hosts- Revelation 19:16 KJV [16] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 7:14; I Timothy 6:15)- By Ely Roque Sagansay
