It was during the times of the most
revered, and respected president of the United States of America- president
Abraham Lincoln when "Thanksgiving Day" was declared as an annual
tradition and celebration in 1863. In spite of the civil war, and the conflicts
between the north and the south, the racial discrimination, and the war against
poverty as well as the power struggle; Mr. Lincoln declared and proclaimed a
national day of "Thanksgiving and Praise to Our Beneficent Father Who Dwelleth
in the Heavens".
