Contentious is a deep and unpopular word. But in dictionary.com it means quarrelsome. The NIV, Living Bible, and Revised Standard Version used "quarrelsome" which actually means "likely to cause disagreement or argument". There are people who just love to argue for nothing. They love jesting and debating without any acceptable and worthy cause or purpose.- Proverbs 21:19 KJV It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
