God is Good Indeed!

(Written Across the Library of My Daughter and Son in Law in Kentucky)

More than 10 years ago, I was very sick and was in and out of the hospital for almost a year. Along with it, I lost my job due to missing so much time at work. Then came the bills piling up on our table. We began to be behind on our Mortgage, in Credit Cards debts, in our newly bought Van, and other bills. It was a nightmare I had to sleep with, and woke up with, without many of my friends and relatives' knowledge of what I was going through. But deep depression, anxiety, fear of losing our home and vehicles was playing in my heart and mind day and night.

Tears just kept on flowing in my eyes when I'm by myself at the Park, near the woods, in my car, especially in the middle of the night in our basement. In spite of my sickness and sometimes pain; I would go down to our basement and read my Bible, Pray, and just cry to God feeling sorry for myself, and my children who may lose their dad and their home- their only shelter.

One night, I cried in our bed, then I sneaked out of our room trying my best not to wake my wife up. In our basement, I randomly turned the pages of my Bible and started reading from the book of Psalm. Notice what it says; "Psalm 4:1-8 KJV

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. [2] O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. [3] But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him. [4] Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. [5] Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord. [6] There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. [7] Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. [8] I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety."

By the way, tonight, this was my personal devotion and this leads me to write this brief testimony which I believe is the work of the Holy Spirit of God.

That night, the Lord struck my heart when I started reading verses 4 to 5- "[4] Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. [5] Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord." 1- Stand in awe. 2- Sin not. 3- Commune… and be still. What really pierced my heart was to "Offer the sacrifices of righteousness." And "put your trust in the Lord."

I believe that was what God wanted me to do. To offer the sacrifices of righteousness. God is not interested in my talents, because He can make the stones sing and give praises to Him. It means He can use anything, anytime, anywhere, for any purpose to give honor and glory to His Name. But to live a righteous life, and to put my trust in Him for my undesired, uncontrolled circumstances, and trials or problems- I alone can do it.

That night, when I said yes Lord, I want to live a righteous life for you, and I put my trust in you; from that time on our life has never been the same. He changed the course of our lives from being overwhelmingly buried in debts and doubt to Missions for His glory, and Freedom from all our struggles.

God can do greater things to you than what He has done for us, in us, and through us. Live a holy life and put your trust in the Lord.

These verses are always God's reminders for me when I started to doubt, to have fear, to be anxious, and just felt crazy because I can't control my circumstances. "Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Why Many Young People Are a Messed

I hit my kids with belt or stick to discipline them as they grow up. Not a surprise for me and my wife if they don't hit or hate people or go with the wrong crowd. Did I regret it? No. It hurts me for a while but it pays off for them and me and my wife. Painful and Strict Discipline is what's lacking in many homes. Many parents are creating 'Cry Babies' and snowflakes under their own roof; no wonder millions of new generation young people are easily offended, unpatriotic, lazy, impatience, and cry babies. The sad part is, if they're in drugs, violence, or living in hate.

You can't say you love your children if you can't break their bad attitudes, their willful and disobedient hearts, and their evil deeds with discipline. You're children's lifestyle is the reflection of how you treat them as they grow up under your authority. You may abuse or not use such authority. But remember that when God gave you your child or children; God at the same time entrusted to you the whole duties, responsibilities, love, and the rearing of a human being that will reflect His image. Be loving, understanding, but don't let them pass the belt of discipline if they are disrespectful, disobedient, divisive, and if they disregard their duties consistently.

If you teach them the Fear of God, the Holy Word of God, and to respect the authority- they will embrace those as they start living by themselves or when they start their own family. (Proverbs 22:5). Love them, warn them, and use strict disciple if they are disobedient, disrespectful and rebellious. (Ephesians 6:1- 8) This Country needs good, godly, and God fearing parents. May we all spread the holy image of God by strengthening our relationship with our spouses, loving and spending time with our children, and by teaching them to be like Jesus. Wisdom of the Day from Mi Daily Devotion

"Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool." (Proverbs 19:1 KJV)

Integrity is priceless. It is something no one can take from you unless you give in to temptation or trade it for temporary fame, power or wealth.

It's not good to be a poor man, but I would rather live and die a poor man than to live in riches and material abundance without integrity and dignity. (Deuteronomy 8:18)- Ely Roque Sagansay
