Mi Daily Devotion
(Exodus 17:3) “And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? They provoked, He provides. The Israelites provoked the Lord by their rebellion, disobedience, unfaithfulness and doubt. But the Lord remained faithful to them until the end of their journey. It means from their wilderness journey until they’ve reached the promise land. The Lord showed them His miracle when they were in need of food in the wilderness of Sin. Moses was tried and tested in the wilderness with the children of Israel. He was provoked when the children of Israel were in need of water and they were in intense thirst. What would be your natural reaction if you were in the position of Moses or you were one of the Israelites? Are you going to be mad and complain to Moses or to God? The children of Israel were stiff necked that they even wanted to kill Moses and counted him as a murderer. “4- …What shall I do unto this people? They be almost ready to stone me.” Do you believe that God is interested with little things…? God’s provision is always available for your needs, but you have to trust Him. Jeremiah wrote; “17- Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:” (Jeremiah 32:17)

(Matthew 28:19) “19- Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” Our church is mission centered church and passionate about it. We cannot always go out there for mission trips; but how can we get involved in mission? We must be supporting the mission work here in the USA and abroad. Philippines used to be a mission field; but now Philippine churches are sending pastors and missionaries overseas and churches are planting churches, schools and ministries. Have you ever asked yourself this question- “What happened to some of our pastors, missionaries and churches, and to their passion to start new works and ministries for the Lord?” Have we dropped the ball already? It is a divine appointment for us- (verse 16- 17). “Then the eleven disciples went …where Jesus had appointed them.” The Lord appointed His disciples to “Go and make disciples” and God appointed us to do the same. We are responsible and duty bound to educate our children, the new converts and the church to get involved in mission. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

(Proverbs 17:17) “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” FRIENDSHIP… It’s general in terms of relationship, wide in its scope, and sometimes complicated. Friendship could be a roller coaster ride because it will either break your relationship or keep the relationship stronger. We should take our relationship in a direction where we could be closer to God and with our brethren in the Lord. We should love them, pray for them and be there for them in any way we can. “Iron sharpeneth iron;” Do you share your wisdom and knowledge, positive things and ideas to your friends? Do you care for them, share your blessings and tried to be a comfort to your friends? Who should be the Christian’s best friends? The body of Christ should avoid cliché instead be open to friendship with everybody, pray for each other and fellowship with one another. Is your pastor, church or friends can be trusted to share with your personal problems and confidential issues? We should maintain love, trust, understanding and being open and available to our friends and brethren. As the song says; “No one ever cared for me like Jesus, there’s no other friend so kind as He…” King Solomon wrote; A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24)

(Ephesians 5:25) “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;” What is more important, urgent and necessary to you? Are your priorities concerning relationship and family in the center next to God? True indeed, next to God should be your family circle. God is our highest goal. We must express and give Him our unconditional love. And then our spouse and home must come next. The price of love and time for God and family are not cheap. You have to pay the price of you always being there for God and for your love ones. God knows that husbands will always have problems with their wives and vice versa. The 2 common problems of husbands to their wives are “submission and obedience.” Do you agree that submission and obedience are Christian’s common problems as a church of Christ? And do you have the same problems at home or with your spouse? Are you willing to sacrifice your own principles, your personal desire, your time and your personal comfort for God and family? We must be submissive and obedient to God, His Word and His will. The Lord wants for us to love our neighbors, especially those who are under our roof. “27- And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” (Luke 10:27)

(Genesis 2:7- 8)
“7- And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 8- And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.” God created man in His own image for a purpose and with a purpose. Man was created with a unique and special relationship with God until man was tempted by the enemy. (Genesis 1:25- 27) What made us special is that God created us with His own hand. Although the universe, the horizon, the ocean, the animals and the beast were created beautifully; He just spoke the words and He made things in its place. God in His power made all things possible. Have you ever thought of God’s amazing hands and personal touched in His creation and in your life? Did you know that God wants to have a love relationship with you? Did you know that God Himself made an offering for the cleansing and restoration of the broken relationship and the marred love relationship between God and man? Apostle John wrote; “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:  7- But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (I John 1:6- 7)

(Matthew 6:1- 2) “1- Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2- Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.” We must be a blessing to others or say some encouraging words and do good works. We can be an effective testimony for Christ for the present day publicans. Is your life different when you’re at home than when you’re at work, when you’re at church or when you’re with your friends? Do you act like a man or a woman with an iron mask? Do you know the person that is behind that iron masks? You see the mask, but not the real face of a person behind the mask. You can mask yourself in your giving, in your service to God, in your worship and even in your common personal interest as a student, business person or minister. It depends on how you acts and re-acts as a Christian. All these could be covered in one (1) umbrella- “Integrity”. We must live and die with dignity and integrity. King Solomon wrote; “Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.” (Proverbs 19:1)

(Ephesians 5:30- 31) “30- For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31- For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.” What is your perspective of marriage these days? How do you take care of your relationship and your home? I don’t agree and believe there is such thing as same sex marriage. It’s not Biblical, it’s not moral and it’s very inappropriate. Did you know that marriage is not a trial and error? Did you know that marriage is not always a mountain top experience? Do you believe that having the right life partner will not always make you happy and keep you away from problems and disagreement? Do you believe that marriage is not a temporary commitment, but a lifetime commitment? Have you ever thought during your honeymoon that one day there will be sleepless night for the baby, because of financial problems or sickness? Did you know that millions of Americans are worried about tomorrow because there will be bills to pay? Marriage is not an experiment and is not for experiment. Did you know that you will not always be happy with your marriage because you will have conflicts, misunderstanding and some serious matter to settle or place on the table for discussion and opinion? Notice Peter’s good advice. (I Peter 3:1-5; 7- 8).

Mi Daily Devotion

(John 2:1- 2) “1- And the third "day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2- And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.” Jesus put importance to marriage with His presence, provision and performing His first miracle. Wedding or marriage has a special place in the heart of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord’s miracle indicates how our lives have changed when He changed the water into wine. What is the essence of water turned into wine in relation to eternal life which we received by faith? Do you believe it’s a picture of God’s mighty works in the heart of man? Do you recognize the first miracle of Christ is God’s manifestation to us that He is the giver of life and a miracle working God? Do you believe that God can change your life that has no flavor and color into something that is useful, full of love, power and with God’s rainbow colors? If you remember what God did after the universal flood during the time of Noah? (Genesis chapters 7- 10) God can make our marriage a miracle and a show case. The Creator alone can be our spiritual re-creator. He alone can give us the best wine which cannot make you an alcoholic but will give you a joyous life. (Isaiah 55:1; Ephesians 5:18-20). "32- This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church." (Ephesians 5:32)

Mi Daily Devotion

“21- Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.” (Ephesians 5:21) It should start by knowing Christ with this simple guide:
·       Accept that you are a sinner. (Romans. 3:10; 23, 6: 23). Jesus alone can forgive your sins and trespasses.
·       Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Jesus died for your sins on the cross and he was buried and after 3 days; He rose from the dead. (Romans 10: 6- 13, John 1: 12).
·       Confess your sins to God. (I John 1: 8- 10, Acts 3: 19, 8: 22, II Peter 3:9)
Your relationship with your partner is way more important than anyone in the world including money, sports, friends and even your ministry. Your family and your relationship with your spouse should come first. You really have to try hard and harder as you try to maintain your loving and sacrificial love relationship with your spouse; because marriage is inspired and blessed by God. If you’re married, whatever is hard for you and your partner will be easy if you love one another and the two you love the Lord your God. Paul said; “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. (Ephesians 5:2)

(Ephesians 5:2)
21- “And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.” Marriage is God’s divine institution and it is to unite a man and a woman in holy matrimony. It’s definitely not a same sex.
Marriage was first instituted by God in the Garden of Eden, when He saw that it was not good for Adam to be alone. Do you honor and crown marriage with Christ’s blessings and according to the Word of God? Will you or have you entered marriage with care, love and honor to God? Do you honor and respect your life partner? The Bible said; “Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.” (Ephesians 5:33) The Bible said; “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” (Hebrews 13:4) You must honor and respect the bonding or vow that was made in heaven. The vow is between you, your spouse and the Lord. Do you find favour of the Lord? The day you got married; did you take marriage seriously or lightly? May we value our relationship with our spouse and with God? King Solomon wrote; “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.” (Proverbs 18:22)

(Mark 12: 43- 44) “43- And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44- For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.” People give with different reasons or purpose. We must give from the bottom of our heart. Do you believe that giving should start from your heart? Do you have to wait for the time where you are financially stable for you to be a generous person? Can you share your generosity with your wife and children by giving them your time? You need to change your heart, change your purpose, change your perspective and change the way you love the Lord. How can you start to be a winner for God with the little amount that you can share or give in your church, for the ministry and for God’s glory? The poor widow gave to Jesus her whole being, her livelihood and savings. We must do the same. The great evangelist Dwight L. Moody said; “Do all the good you can, to all the people you can, in all the ways you can, as long as you can.” Before his conversion, Apostle Paul was a very selfish person… he wrote; “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (II Cor. 9:7)
