Dangerous Time
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall
come.” (II Timothy 3:1)
Apostle
Paul saw the future in this verse as he literally experienced it in his times. No
doubt about it; we are all living in the most dangerous and perilous times in
human history. We cannot deny the fact that we are always in danger even if
we’re under our own roof. We have fear in our lives because of what’s going on
in every corner of the world. Living in a secured and wealthy environment will
not give us the assurance to keep us from any dangers such as physical and spiritual
sickness, accident, death or financial insolvent. God’s protection to His
children does not mean that we are free from any dangerous situations.
Apostle
Paul used the words, “…in the last days perilous times shall come.” “The last
days” could mean from his time, during our time, and the time to come. One of
the dangers that I’m afraid of as a pastor is something within me. It’s the danger
of losing my passion for the lost souls, losing my passion to preach the Word
of God, losing my passion and my tears as I stand in the pulpit. What could be
worst if I lost my passion to touch and influence lives? Notice the heart of a
man who was in the brink of danger and death. (Acts 20:31) “Therefore watch,
and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one
night and day with tears.”
