Excellence for Christ

“And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.” (I Corinthians 9:25 KJV)

Ortega Y. Gasset said: “Excellence means when a man or woman asks of himself more than others do.” Mr. Lee Iacocca the highly respected man in the car industry wrote; “The kind of people I look for to fill top management spots are the eager beavers, the mavericks. These are the guys who try to do more than they’re expected to do- they always reach.”

But Apostle Paul has a different perspective in doing things, he wrote; “17- And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. 23- And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” (Colossians 3:17- 23)
