Service Out of Love

When I was a young pastor, a minister of a protestant denomination shared to me about how the leadership in his church requires him to report what he did during the week. He was also instructed when he accepted the call to at least have a set time for visitation and some kind of a quota in home visits, Bible studies or in soul winning. He was even asked to have a 'time log' although it was not necessary for him to report.

It is sad when churches and religious organizations are becoming like a business by the way the leadership runs the system. Pastors, Missionaries, Church Planters, and Spiritual Leaders are treated like employees.

Accountability is great, but putting a shadow of pressure on the paid personnel is unnecessary. The danger of pleasing the boss is imminent. It distracts the goal of pleasing God and doing things with motivation and out love. Notice what apostle Peter says; 1 Peter 5:2- 3 KJV
"2- Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3- Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock." #Boklit
