God’s Peace and Your Devotion to Him

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 KJV)
Matthew Henry wrote; “This peace will keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus; it will keep us from sinning under our troubles, and from sinking under them; keep us calm and sedate, without discomposure of passion, and with inward satisfaction. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee, Isa. 26:3.” (The Bible Collection, Matthew Henry)

“It’s easy to focus on your devotions rather than the object of your devotions. Do your best to focus on God rather than the discipline of daily devotions.”

“There’s a reason God wants us to devote ourselves to prayer-it works. When you pray earnestly, God promises to answer in ways that will amaze you.”

“Much of what happens in life, whether insignificant or catastrophic, is beyond your control. Instead of being infuriated by your own inability to alter events, be thankful that God is all-powerful and has control over all things.” (God is in The Small Stuff” Bruce & Stan)
