The Potter and the Clay- To Shape and Re-shaped

“1- The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 2- Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.” (Jeremiah 18: 1- 2 KJV)

God was teaching Jeremiah how the Lord would shape the nation as well as an individual. Jeremiah watched this potter for a period of time, and that was his learning process. You may have heard of how Paul showed and trained young Timothy on how to be a true servant of God. Paul trained Timothy how to be a witness and a disciple. God took him to His place- God’s place and made him learn the Lord’s warning, the Lord’s will, the Lord’s process, and God’s way of making a nation or an individual acceptable to Him.

For Elijah, God’s place for him was the brook Cherith. You may have heard of the partnership, and the process Elisha went through; it was the process under Elijah’s leadership with God’s blessing. For you, it could be your job, your loved ones or something that you’re going through right now. God may use or have already used one of them to shape and reshaped you as a Christian. It was all a learning process the good way or God’s way.

In verse four it says; “And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.”
