The Gospel for Our Salvation

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4- And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” (I Corinthians 15:3- 4 KJV)

What is the meaning of the word gospel? According to Apostle Paul; gospel means the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ according to the Scriptures. When you believe on what Christ did on the cross more than 2,000 years ago for eternal life, it made it a full gospel. It means it fulfills its true meaning in people’s lives when they accept it by faith in Christ and in His death, burial and resurrection according to the Scriptures. Apostle Paul wrote: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9- Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8- 9 KJV) Believing in Christ for eternal life may not be a perfect doctrine for many; but that’s what the Bible says… It was because of the finished work of Christ on the cross. There will be no Christmas, Holy Friday and Easter Sunday celebrations if not for the Lord Jesus Christ and His sacrificial death on the cross.

The Bible says; “13- For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14- How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15- And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16- But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 17- So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:13- 17 KJV)
