Mi Daily Devotion: Video/Music (Ten Thousand Years)

He came down and humbled Himself to love, but he was hated even of His own.

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (II Corinthians 5:21 KJV)

“10- He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11- He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12- But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:10- 12 KJV ) -By Ely Roque Sagansay

But He Owns Everything…

“And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7- And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:6- 7 King James Version)

He was Homeless… “And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.” (Luke 9:58 KJV)

But He Owns Everything… “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.” (Psalms 50:10 KJV)

He is the King of kings and Lord of lords but He was the Servant of men.

He Humbled Himself… “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:” (Philippians 2:5-7 KJV)

He came down and humbled Himself to love, but he was hated even of His own.

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (II Corinthians 5:21 KJV)

Why Christmas is Unique...?

“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Christmas is Unique because Jesus was born and His birth was mentioned by the Lord Himself in (Genesis 3:15 KJV). The Bible says; “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” The first prophecy mentioned in the Bible from the mouth of God the Father. Although it was also prophesied by the prophets hundreds of years before Jesus was born but then, it need not be confirmed or authenticated because it was God the Father Who first prophesied His birth. ( Genesis 3:15; Micah 5:2; Isaiah 9:6)

Christmas is Unique because on Christmas day, Jesus was born to die for sinners. There is no other individual or great leader other than Jesus; the way He was born, lived here on earth and died. (John 8:46; 3:16; Romans 5:8). He was completely man but He was sinless. His works and ministry was unusual. He heals and raised Lazarus from the dead. “He taketh away the sins of the world…” And He loves us in spite of our sinfulness. He cares for us and did miracles and still performing miracles. There is no other holiday or occasion such as great and universally celebrated by the whole world as Christmas. No one can destroy what God hath founded or started. God gave us Jesus, and that’s the reason for the occasion, celebration, and the season!

Christmas is the key to the gospel. He died not for Himself but for us, for our sins. He died for the salvation of mankind. He died to give us hope. He died so we can live. He died, was buried and rose again the third day and He’s coming back. (I Corinthians 15:1- 4) -By Ely Roque Sagansay

People Refused to Believe on Him and on His Birth

“But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, we will not have this man to reign over us.” (Luke 19:14 King James Version)

The world refused to believe about the prophecy of His birth in the Old Testament, during the New Testament times, and when the time has come when His birthday was a reality. The birthday of the Lord Jesus Christ was hard to believe in by the faithless generations during His time until the times of the Gentiles- our times.

King Herod was afraid to believe because of his fear of losing his kingdom on the Lord’s birth. As it was known to many, Herod thought Jesus will proclaim Himself King of the Jews. He is the King of kings; but they refused to believe Him as so… King Herod would rather put his faith on his political influence and political power by refusing to believe in the birth of the King of kings. Insecurity and prevalent attitude of unbelief of man are some of the reasons why Christmas celebration is an issue.

The brothers of Joseph the son of Jacob would not believe him for his dream; because they thought that Joseph would be their leader and Joseph will be greater than them according to the interpretation of his dream. “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. 8- And his brethren said; Shalt thou indeed reign over us? Or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his works.” (Genesis 37:5; 8 KJV) Man has not changed, but be different- celebrate Christmas with godly fear and faith in what God has done through Christ. (John 7:5; John 1:10- 12)

The Spirit of Christmas

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.” (Matthew 1:18 King James Version)

The Spirit of Christmas is about the joy and the love of Jesus- God’s gift from above. He filled the Spirit of Christmas with trust, peace and serenity. Through the blessed child in a manger our war to cease, and love indeed increased. That’s the true Spirit of Christmas.

The Spirit of Christmas made the purest of heart, In Him our love to impart. Christmas is sharing too, through kindness, by being forgiving and gentle, and in our good deeds we know. In submission we are ready to do for Jesus and for the whole world too.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the main Character. Joseph and Mary played the best part I know. But we cannot ignore the role of the Holy Spirit of God. And the Lord gave us the blessings of Christmas by the revelation of the Word of God.

I conclude that if you are out of touch of what Christmas is all about, the touch of Christmas can be missed, and its purpose for you is a loss; but not on those who believe in Him whose birth brings miracle and love.

If you don’t believe in Christmas, it means you don’t believe in the birth of our Savior-the Lord Jesus Christ. It also means that you don’t believe in the miracle that God has done through Mary by virgin birth. As the Bible says; “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31- And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.” (Luke 1:30- 31 KJV)

May We Let Jesus Rule Our Hearts By Faith

“By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.” (Proverbs 8:16 King James Version)

The book of Proverbs was penned by Solomon. The meaning of Solomon is peaceable, which shows in his character. David’s life was full of troubles while Solomon lived quietly and peaceably with his fellow men. It was his honour to be identified with King David and be in the line of the promised Messiah. Christ is called the Son of David and Solomon was a type of Christ. Solomon was the king of Israel —The Lord Jesus Christ is the King of kings.

Solomon can be compared to man from age to age, but we cannot compare Jesus, He is God- the second person of the holy trinity. This Christmas, let us remember Jesus who was born in Bethlehem, but He died at the cross of Calvary because of His love for you and for me. May we let Jesus rule our hearts by faith. Jesus said; “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20 KJV)

How to Get to Heaven from Where You Are:

ACCEPT: Accept that you are a sinner. (Romans. 3:10; 23, 6:23). Accept that Jesus alone can forgive your sins and trespasses. And accept Him as your Savior and Lord of your life.

BELIEVE: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Believe that Jesus died for your sins on the cross and He was buried and after 3 days He rose from the dead. (Romans 10:6- 13; 16:30- 31 John 1:12).

CONFESS: Confess your sins to God. You ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins and to cleanse you with His shed blood. (I John 1:8- 10, Acts 3:19, 8:22, II Peter 3:9)
