Mission Trip Opportunities

Thank you so much for your prayers.
These are just some of the thing I get to accomplished for a short time in the
Philippines during my trip last year

I preached in a Funeral- 5 souls
that came to know the Lord.
At the school- I witnessed to 7
years old child, he accepted the Lord and brought in his 7 friends that whole
afternoon, they all accepted the Lord.

I preached to a church where
almost half of the congregation came forward for salvation, commitment to Christian
service, or surrender their sins to God.

I witnessed to a man who was
seeking for something missing in his life; he accepted the Lord.

I also lead to the Lord the
manager of a hotel and resort (that is a gay/ homosexual) where I was invited
to fellowship with the pastors; it was his physical birthday that day, and he
accepted the Lord.

We also witnessed in the middle
of the night to the group of teenagers who had a drinking session just next to
Seven Eleven.
I shared the Word of God to the
tribe man on our way to Baguio city. He and his parents used to worship the
Anitos (spirits). I shared to him the Word of God; this young man accepted the
Lord.

The harvest truly is
plentiful...

Only eternity will tell of how
your $ dollars could impact, and make a difference in the life of those who
don't even know your name and see your faces.

Please continue to pray for
more fruit as we look forward of what God has for us in the Philippines and
Cambodia as we GO for a Mission Trip on February 2015…

Jesus and His Birth

But He is the One Who Shaped Up Millions of Lives

If we don’t know the Bible and time will take us back to Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago, and we see the scenario of the Savior’s birth; we may not accept the truth that Jesus is the Savior of the world. If you just happen to discover Joseph, Mary and the little baby in that little manger with the animals; you may not know that He is the Savior of the world. And that He is the Messiah and the King of kings. How in the world did He end up in a little village in Bethlehem with the animals and with the poor couples living with them could be your big question of the day.

But He is the one who shaped up millions of lives and He can do the same to you. He is the one who showed us the way from darkness to glory by the working of the Holy Spirit. My question for you; “What will you do or may say if God will take you back from the manger to the cross, leaving you a 2,000 years gap?” If I don’t know the story of Christ and the Bible; I would say He was an unfortunate baby, who became homeless in His whole life time, and died a miserable death on the cross.

But we know He is the Christ of Christmas and the only reason for the celebration. He is the one who gave us joy, peace and satisfaction that this old world could never do. He is the reason why we love the Lord. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. He is the Eternal God, the second person of the Holy Trinity. And He is the only way, the truth and the life. The prophet Isaiah beautifully penned the greatest prophecy about the birth of the Son of God, he wrote; “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 KJV)  -By Ely Roque Sagansay

May We Learn to Entrust Everything in the Hands of God This Christmas Season

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2- For by it the elders obtained a good report. (Hebrews 11:1- 2 King James Version)

When you trust God for salvation, it was not just about His Son’s death on the cross, but also Jesus’ birth, burial and resurrection. You cannot just believe on Jesus on the cross, but on that same Jesus the Messiah that was born of a virgin. Obviously, we don’t see and touch the physical body of the baby Jesus in a manger, and we cannot picture the agony and pain of Mary and Joseph as they obey God; but we know and we believe in the narratives of Christmas. We trust God in every aspects of life- it means in everything. We pray and trust God for our needs, problems and future, but still, we seem to forget the miracle that happened on that first Christmas day when Jesus was born on that blessed night.

Gideon was a man who has no self worth and self esteem, Moses stutter when he speak, Apostle Paul was in prison and in deep need, Zacchaeus was short and a thief; yet they were all used by the Lord when they trusted Him and obeyed God. They were blessed by the Lord in spite of their personal issues. One of my favorite verses in the Bible- “5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5- 6 KJV) May we learn to entrust everything in the hands of God this Christmas season and the years to come as we accept the Christ of Christmas! -By Ely Roque Sagansay

Free Gifts for All!

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9- Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8- 9 King James Version)

The saying; “The best thing in life is free” is true, especially when it comes to spiritual matters. Those who offer free stuff and services are sometimes grilled into questions. But many of those who offered you something free with a smile at the mall will make you pay for it in some ways or there could be a catch or fine prints. It’s a different story when it comes to God and His promises. God promised us in His Holy Word of so many “freebies” - common term in our modern times.

Christmas means the free gift of salvation. We received eternal life as a free gift. (Romans 6:23; John 3:16; Titus 3:4- 5) We will spend eternity in heaven with Jesus and His free gift of beyond our imagination, majestic and heavenly mansions. Jesus said; “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3- And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:2- 3 KJV)

And one of the reasons why we have Christmas was because of His birth. Jesus came here on earth so we could have God’s gift of forgiveness for our sins and trespasses. No need of Hocus Pocus, reading and checking on all the fine prints or shade of doubt. You just need humility, repentance, and faith in the Son of God and what He did on the cross. It is impossible to adore the manger without looking at the cross. The manger was Jesus’ first step to the cross. (Ephesians 1:6- 7) The Bible says; “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21 KJV) -By Ely Roque Sagansay

“But You Can’t Be Mad to a Baby!”

“13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men. 17- Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, 18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.” (Matthew 2:13; 16- 18 King James Version)

“He or she’s just a baby!” “You’re such a baby!” “Who will take care of the Baby?” Those are familiar phrases in many homes. Notice the common phrase in heaven and in Bethlehem during the birthday of a King- “Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” And that’s what the angels proclaimed when they sounded the sweetest message; “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12- And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” (Luke 2:11- 12 KJV)

My words for people like King Herod- “But you can’t be mad to a baby!” The Baby that was born in a manger more than 2,000 years ago did not remain a baby and did not remain in a manger. He did not die at the cross and stay on that cross to see corruption; but He was buried only to rise from the dead after 3 days.

King Herod after he heard the news of Jesus being born in Bethlehem was so afraid that he declared to kill all the babies from 2 years old and under. During the times of Pharaoh who knew not Joseph; they also killed the babies. These are the kings and powerful people who were insecure, jealous, and furious or mad to the babies. Did it ring in your ears? It’s how common it is in many homes in the USA and in the government in many parts of the world, and even worst- they kill the fetus. But Jesus is more than just an ordinary baby. Isaiah wrote; “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 KJV) -By Ely Roque Sagansay

You May Reject the Tradition of Christmas, But Don’t Turn Your Back on the Christ of CHRISTmas

“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11- He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12- But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:10- 12 King James Version)

There are homeless people due to economic downturn, they lost their job, drugs and other personal related problems, or to some, it’s because of circumstances that were beyond their control. A homeless lady in Michigan who approached me while I was getting some exercise was asking for money so she could get a hot coffee or lunch. She was decent and nice. I asked her why she was in the street in a cold weather and why she was asking money from people. The lady started crying and said; “I was kicked out by my husband and children from my own home!” A woman who gave birth to beautiful children, nourished and took care of them, and then one day she came home from work and was met with these words; “We don’t need you here!” And they slammed the door right in her face.

It’s sad and tragic; but that’s what we did to God. God made the world and created men in His own image, He provided everything that we needed in this world before we were born. We rejected Him and slammed the door of our hearts to Jesus and the Holy Spirit. There are sad events, and sad verses in the Bible; but one of the saddest verses or Words in the Bible is in John 1:10- 11. Notice what Jesus said to every generations; “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20 KJV) -By Ely Roque Sagansay
