Free Gifts for All!

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9- Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8- 9 King James Version)

The saying; “The best thing in life is free” is true, especially when it comes to spiritual matters. Those who offer free stuff and services are sometimes grilled into questions. But many of those who offered you something free with a smile at the mall will make you pay for it in some ways or there could be a catch or fine prints. It’s a different story when it comes to God and His promises. God promised us in His Holy Word of so many “freebies” - common term in our modern times.

Christmas means the free gift of salvation. We received eternal life as a free gift. (Romans 6:23; John 3:16; Titus 3:4- 5) We will spend eternity in heaven with Jesus and His free gift of beyond our imagination, majestic and heavenly mansions. Jesus said; “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3- And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:2- 3 KJV)

And one of the reasons why we have Christmas was because of His birth. Jesus came here on earth so we could have God’s gift of forgiveness for our sins and trespasses. No need of Hocus Pocus, reading and checking on all the fine prints or shade of doubt. You just need humility, repentance, and faith in the Son of God and what He did on the cross. It is impossible to adore the manger without looking at the cross. The manger was Jesus’ first step to the cross. (Ephesians 1:6- 7) The Bible says; “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21 KJV) -By Ely Roque Sagansay
