“He was in the world,
and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11- He came unto his
own, and his own received him not. 12- But as many as received him, to them
gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
(John 1:10- 12 King James Version)
There are homeless
people due to economic downturn, they lost their job, drugs and other personal
related problems, or to some, it’s because of circumstances that were beyond
their control. A homeless lady in Michigan who approached me while I was
getting some exercise was asking for money so she could get a hot coffee or
lunch. She was decent and nice. I asked her why she was in the street in a cold
weather and why she was asking money from people. The lady started crying and
said; “I was kicked out by my husband and children from my own home!” A woman
who gave birth to beautiful children, nourished and took care of them, and then
one day she came home from work and was met with these words; “We don’t need
you here!” And they slammed the door right in her face.
It’s sad and tragic; but that’s what we did to
God. God made the world and created men in His own image, He provided
everything that we needed in this world before we were born. We rejected Him
and slammed the door of our hearts to Jesus and the Holy Spirit. There are sad
events, and sad verses in the Bible; but one of the saddest verses or Words in
the Bible is in John 1:10- 11. Notice what Jesus said to every generations; “Behold,
I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I
will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20 KJV) -By Ely
