The Persecuted Christian Pastor in Iran
When an ordinary Filipino laborer is in trouble in many parts of the world, especially in Middle East; the Philippine government would send either their vice president, cabinet members or representatives to negotiate with its counterparts or the governments for their (Fellow Citizen's) release or freedom etc. A Christian pastor in Iran (Pastor Saeed Abedini) have been in prison for almost a year already, and he's tortured in the name of Christ, but I don't see the US government doing anything for his release and freedom and the president is silent- what's wrong? The USA government need to do something not because he is a Christian and a pastor, but because he's a USA citizen. Mr. president, Christian government officials, senators and house representatives we need your help! Please do something about this! God bless!

“9- Is not the whole land before thee?
separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I
will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to
the left.”
Abraham and Lot have the same problems this generation
have lost and are going through. Some people have lost their values because of
money and the temptation of it. Some have compromised their faith in exchanged for
wealth. Others, they ruined their testimony to their fellow believers due to
money problems. And unfortunately, some were making bad decisions due to their
lust of the eyes and covetousness. (Ephesians 5:3; Psalm 119:36). The rich and
the poor, the Christians and the unbelievers are both can get hooked with
gambling problems. We have divorce and family conflicts, broken families and
divisions in our churches due to the same problem- “love of money... Learn from
Apostle Paul in his letter to young Timothy; “Ye are
witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved
ourselves among you that believe:” (I Timothy 2:10)

(I Timothy 6:9) “But they that will be rich fall
into temptation and a
snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which
drown men in
destruction and perdition.”
There’s nothing wrong with money and wealth, its our
attitude
toward it that makes the difference. We see families and homes that
are being destroyed for the love of money and power. It’s good to
be rich and
prosperous, but don’t trade your love ones for the sake
of money or for the love
of money. I wish every generous
Christians are weathy and being blessed
financially by the Lord, so
they could help lift up the needy and help build
churches and send
out missionaries. But Christians were gifted by the Lord with
salvation and love in their homes. If you don’t spend quality time
with God,
you may do the same to your family. Apostle Paul has a
good advice for all of
us; “For the love of money is the root of all
evil:
which while some coveted after, they have erred from the
faith, and pierced
themselves through with many sorrows.” (I
Timothy 6:10)

(Genesis
13:6) “And
the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their
substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.”
Do you know what means to be poor and needy and to live in poverty? If you know what it means to be poor and needy and if you have
experienced poverty, then I’m positive you could be flexible and content in
life. There are those who are humbled by the Lord through the success that God
has given them and the blessings of prosperity, but others became greedy, proud and insecure. We are all accountable to God of the blessings and success that
He entrusted to us. Unfortunately, this was not true to Lot and not even being
put into consideration by many Christians of our time. Even some of the twelve
disciples of Jesus was irresponsible in their actions and in their words when
they desired to know who would be the greatest among them, not knowing the ways
and will of God. The Lord is the one who opens and closed the doors for us and
all we have to do is trust His heart. King Solomon wrote; “He that trusteth in
his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.”

Mi Daily Devotion
(Genesis 13:8) “8- And Abram said unto
Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my
herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.”
Conflicts could be caused by sin of pride, arrogance, jealousy and envy which may lead to strife and more disagreement and war. Although Satan has a big part to any conflicts in churches, at homes or Christian organizations, but we must not play a ‘blame game’. Poverty, prosperity and power struggles are sometimes some of the common causes of conflict not just in the Christian community, but all over the world. Verse 6 says; “And the land was not able to bear them…” In my own words- “They cannot contain the blessings and prosperity of God to them that they let it contained them…” Prosperity and power must be placed in the throne of God and let Him used us through it for His name and glory. The Bible said; “7- And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. 8- And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.” (Genesis 13:7- 8)

Mi Daily Devotion
(Romans 5:10) “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled
to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved
by his life.”
The reason why we don’t have to work hard to go to heaven, and
the reason why Christ don’t need our religion and religious rituals, because
He is our religion. He reconciled us to the Father by His death on the cross. That’s
the reason why God will not weight the good versus the bad in us. God will not
check our spirituality to see if we’re spiritual enough for heaven. Christ is
the Supreme good and the only good. He is holy and He is God Himself. “No one
is good but God…” the Lord Jesus Christ said those words during His encounter with the rich
young ruler. It’s a blessing to know that Christ is our High
Priest, who knew no sin. Therefore our salvation is sure, secured, and our service to God is sanctified in Him.
Apostles Paul wrote; “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” (II Corinthians 5:20)

Mi Daily Devotion
(I Samuel 30:6) “And David was greatly distressed;
for the people
spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was
grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David
encouraged
himself in the LORD his God.”
To have a wrong attitude toward God when you’re
discourage is
not the answer to whatever situation you are in. David did the right
thing when he wept, and cried hard before he took a moved or
made the decisions
for his people and his family. Making any minor
or major decisions when you’re
discourage could be catastrophic.
What should be the attitude of Christians
toward discouragement?
Don’t be afraid,
but be courageous and exercise what Joshua said;
“This book of the law
shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou
shalt meditate therein day and
night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein:
for then thou shalt make thy
way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success. 9- Have
not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not
afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with
thee
whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:8-9)

"That the
communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every
good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. "(Philemon 1:6 KJV)
Communication is important in business, in every relationship, in life as whole, and with God. But communication could be bad, distorted, evil or the common excuse of some people- "miscommunication". Apostle Paul wants us to use our common “communication” for God, for good and better purpose. It should be for the ministry, to encourage our fellow believers and to strengthen the community of believers. We need to build up someone for Christ using all good means of communications. The great Apostle Paul wrote: "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." (Ephesians 4:29 KJV)

Philippians 4:13 “I can do
all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Job went through his most painful, most devastating
and serious trial. No one in the history of mankind except for the Lord has
experienced such pain. We heard so many testimonies about people’s life and the
pain, problems, trials and sufferings that they went through. Sometimes people
would even parallel or compare their life to Job’s suffering. Jeremiah and Job
were not disobedient to the God given vision. When God teaches us something,
it’s not something that visible or tangible; but sometimes God would just leave
us in the dark or God will leave us empty handed. I remember what a friend of
mine once said in our chapel hour service, he said; “God sometimes will reduce
us to nothing so we can make Him (our) everything!” If you recognize that you
are the clay in a Potter’s hand, then you will rely and trust what the prophet Jeremiah
said in Jeremiah 18: 1- 23.

(Hebrews 3:1- 2) "Wherefore, holy
brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High
Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; 2-Who was faithful to him that
appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house." Christ the holy Son of God, He
was 'appointed by God'. Aristotle said; "Praise invariably implies a reference to a higher
standard." Jesus is the standard of God. No one can accomplish the task
but Christ Himself. God the Father foreordained Christ even before the foundation
of the world. No one can stand before God but the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one
is able to do the task, but the one and only appointed by our holy Father. He was appointed and ordained by the Father to do the task that no one else can do. Christ is the Son of God, and the second person of the Holy trinity. In the book of Romans Apostle
Paul wrote; "10- For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death
of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life." (Romans 5:10)

John 1:4- 5 "4- In him was life; and the life was the
light of men. 5-And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not." (John 1:4, 5 KJV)
If Jesus is the light of the world, there's no one else who could give us life but Him. It's clear as crystal- if you have Jesus you have life, you have the light and the truth of God. Religion is not the light, the founders of any belief or religious group is not the light and not even the church. The world is in darkness, in turmoil and in confusion, but in spite of all the negative things that's happening in our lives; most people refuse the light of the world- Jesus. And the sad thing is we as Christians refused to be the light bearer. Jesus said, "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12 KJV)

Proverbs 17:1 "Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith,
than an house full of sacrifices with strife."
You may have heard
of the latest news regarding the murder case of Oscar Pistorius of his
girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in Africa. Reeva who was a successful model and Pistorius
a successful sports celebrity were in the headline news not because of their
success in their career, but because Reeva was shot dead in their
beautiful gated home in Africa. What a tragedy of the year in the sports and
show business! Was he (Pistorius) not happy or satisfied with his beautiful
wife? Were they not happy, content, satisfied and felt blessed of their
relationship and all the things that they possess that others don't have?
Indeed, only Jesus can satisfy our longing and lost soul. He is the answer to
man's sin problem. Apostle Paul wrote; "4:10- But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the
last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but
ye lacked opportunity. 11- Not that I speak in
respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be
content. 12- I know both how to
be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am
instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer
need. 13- I can do all things
through Christ which strengtheneth me."

Psalm 140:6 "I said unto the LORD, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD."
This was not the
words of someone who happens to be in power or authority. It was not a promised
from someone influential or in politics; but a promise from our Lord and maker.
He is asking us for one thing with greater things in return. He is asking us
to "call unto Him..." for an answer to our problems. He is
challenging us to pray, so we can see great and mighty things which are beyond
our understanding and expectations. He wants to work in us and through us, so
we could be His living miracle in the midst of unbelieving and darkened world.
Call Him today!
"2- Thus saith the Lord the maker thereof, the Lord that formed it, to establish it; the Lord is his name; 3- Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."(Jeremiah 33:2, 3 KJV)

"25- Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;" (KJV)
One of the most popular old proverbs in the Philippines is- "You can give without loving but you cannot love without giving". It's true in every relationships and it's true in Christ and the truth of the Word of God. The Lord knows that the one "would be struggle" of men in marriage relationship is the issue of loving the disobedience, not submissive or the unfaithful wives. Apostle Paul has a different prescription for the wives in the same chapter. Apostle Paul used Christ and the church as his analogy because of the intensity in its commitment, and seriousness of such relationship; check out what he says; "28- So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29- For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:" (Ephesians 5:28, 29 KJV)
