Wisdom of the Day from Mi Daily Devotion
"Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." (Proverbs 27:1 KJV)
"Boast" means "to speak with exaggeration and excessive pride, especially about oneself." (Dictionary.reference.com) We can boast about God, in God and for God, and we can also boast about ourselves, but that could be unpleasant and selfish. We can boast of the past, but it's more unwise and we may sound conceited to boast of the future.
We don't know what lies ahead, therefore to boast of our tomorrow or the future is like a wishful thinking and a non sense dream. It's actually wishing upon the star. The only thing you get is the mindset that you have it. Our lives is like a vapor that appears for a little time and then it will go away. That's what apostle James said.
