Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 1:1 KJV
"The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;"

"David" is a name associated with kings, Bathsheba, Solomon or the nation Israel- the Star of David. It is said in the Bible that "David was a man after God's own heart". He is very close to God, no wonder he draws people to him. He listened to his leader, personal guards, to the men and prophets of God, to his political advisers, even to his wife Bathsheba. It's a sign of humility and wisdom. I love this verse about David behavior and attitude, notice; "And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the Lord was with him." (1 Samuel 18:14 KJV)

Proverbs 31:1 KJV
"The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him."

"Words" are powerful, cheap, life- changing. "Words" is like food, we use it every day. It's the words of wisdom from God that can make us embrace good and right decisions. A wrong perception and explanation to a single word could make a big difference in man's life or it can create chaos, misunderstanding or war. But the spoken Word from God in the Bible will make a big difference in man's life if received by faith and sincerity. John beautifully wrote about "The Word" referring to the Lord Jesus Christ. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1 KJV)-  By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 30:1 KJV
"The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spake unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,"

"Prophecy" is a theological term which has two important meanings: Foretelling- to predict and Forth-telling- to make public. From the Old Testament to the New Testament; the words of the prophets and the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ are at times referred to as the coming events (Prophecies), or things to come. Prophecy is not always about the world being in chaos in the future. It's also about the preaching of God's Word. Christians- you have a part in the kingdom building. Spread the Word of God! Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 29:1 KJV
"He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy."

"Hardeneth" is an old English word which may have a deeper meanings in our modern English translation. But according to NIV it means "stiff-necked". That's exactly what will happen if a person keeps on ignoring the truth and the voice of the Holy Spirit. Pharaoh became stiff-necked after he ignored and rejected Moses, God and His miracles. God, your parents, the Word of God may have spoken to you but you keep on ignoring and just let it passed your ears. I'm afraid one day your heart will be hardened by your continual refusal to listen and take heed of that small voice. (John 8:47; Acts 8:6)- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 28:1 KJV
"The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion."

"Wicked" is a word that God hated in the Bible, but it's a street word of our time which means "great" "good" and "commendable".  I was not being nosy; one day I overheard a conversation of 2 young people. The boy was giving commendation to his friend of the great stuff he did at school. He said; "You're wicked man, it was great!". When God says wicked or wickedness; it means it's against His holiness, against His Word, and it displeases Him. The Bible says; "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 27:1 KJV
"Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."

Is it sinful to boast? Is boasting appropriate to exercise at church or in reporting or testimony to what God is doing or had been doing in our lives or in the church? The Lord is working in us with the purpose, and one of the purpose is to honor and glorify God; therefore boasting must be in God, of God, and for God. Apostle Paul wrote; "But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you." (2 Corinthians 10:13 KJV), in this verse; 17- "But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord."- Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 26:1 KJV
"As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool."

In the USA- "Harvest" is the word many churches and Christian organizations are using in replacement to the word "Halloween". Harvest Festival is an alternative celebration to this annual honor to the dead and evil spirits. Harvest Festival is not wrong and bad even if the celebration coincides with Halloween. Instead of Christians giving honor to the witches and evil spirits- they give God the honor and the glory by being thankful for the harvest or blessings. The Bible says; "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." (Colossians 3:17 KJV) - By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 25:1 KJV
"These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out."

Solomon is a famous name not only in the Bible and Bible times but even during our times. It's a very common name. The most important thing of which we overlooked that is tied to that name is his legacy, accomplishments, his wisdom and knowledge, his treasures, and even the process on how God dealt with him. Solomon means peace. We are familiar with the Hebrew word for "peace" is "shalom." We can attain peace through our Lord Jesus Christ because He is the Prince of Peace. Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 24:1 KJV
"Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them."

Envious is a word that you want to eliminate in your home or church. It's one of the practices in your organization that divides the organizational set ups of the company as well as the friendships of the laborers or workers. You are either a victim of envy or you let envy victimized you! For me, to be envious means to covet, to wrongly desire something that's not in your hands but from the hands of someone... I conclude that (envy and pride) were the sins of Satan when he rebelled against God- he covet God's power and God's throne. (Isaiah 14:12- 20) The Bible says; "Fret not thyself because of evil men , neither be thou envious at the wicked;" (Proverbs 24:19 KJV) - By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

Proverbs 23:1 KJV
"When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee:"

Ruler or rulers are people who leads, dictate, control, care, but some, they destroy and divide the country or group. A ruler is a leader, therefore it is expected of him/her to execute, obey and observe the laws and policies of the land or organization. But the Ruler of rulers is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the King of kings Who deserves to be followed, worship, and live for... "And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS ." Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold." (Proverbs 22:1 KJV)

"Good" is a word that just too good to be in this life that we all know- it's full of goodness and goodies. We have great, good and wonderful God. I remember a song in our Sunday school class when I was a little child: "God is so good, (Hallelujah) God is so good, (Hallelujah) God is good, is so good to me..." My wife's favorite verse says; "The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him." (Nahum 1:7 KJV) - By Ely Roque Sagansay

The Heart of a Pastor

THE HEART OF A PASTOR

(A Minister’s Life from A to Z)

(Hebrews 13:7) “Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering theend of their conversation.”

A pastor could be a husband, a father, a friend and sometimes an enemy to others. A pastor could also be a brother, a manager and a broken hearted man. He is a man of God who is a blessing to others. A pastor is a counselor, a man of comfort, a man that you can count on, a considerate man, and a man full of courage. He always stand firm on his conviction and in the leading of the Holy Spirit. He develops leaders, and a help to the disturbed, the discouraged and the depressed. A pastor is an encourager. He should be an eloquent speaker, and an executor. A pastor is a facilitator. He is one of the few good men, a fellow soldier, our fellowmen, and a fellow servant. He is always on the "GO", and a great man of God. A great communicator, and a goal setter. A pastor's heart is in his home, helping the needy, and praying for the healing of the sick. A pastor's attitude should not be about "I" but about God and others. He is an imitator and he should be an inspiration to others. He gives proper instructions for the kingdom.

Jesus is Just; therefore a pastor must be just, and must have sound judgment. He must be focus on his job or ministry. It is required for a pastor to be knowledgeable, to know what is best for his church, for his people and for the honor and glory of the King of kings. A pastor's love should be on his Lord, his life must be dedicated for the lost souls. He must in line with what God wants for him to do as God's minister. He must remember that he is a man of God and a minister of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. He carries the mark of the Lord Jesus Christ. He must be a minister with honor and humility. (Hebrews 13:17- 18) “17- Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. 18- Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.”

A pastor is always neutral in his dealings with his people. He should not think or say; "It could never be done" neither be a man with negative aspects in life. He is willing to offer his best for the master's use, and he is a man who is open to new ideas. A man of God who perseveres..., he keeps on pressing on... A man of God who desires to please his Lord. He is a servant of God who never questions the Word of God, the will of God and the works of God. A man of God who always quotes the Word of God in all that he does. He learned to be quite. He resists the devil and that which is evil. He help restores those who have fallen from God’s grace. He has a heart for revival, for regeneration of the lost world. He shows compassion, he depend on the Lord his God in everything. His success is because of what God did in him and through him. He trust the Lord, teaches the truth, he is truthful and faithful to God. He is not afraid to take the step of faith as the team leader. Unity is his passion and desire. He gives his undivided attention for the sake of Christ. He uses his talents, treasures and time for the Lord.

Victory is on his side. He is a visionary and he values life, his family and spiritual things. Winning for God and working for God is his focus. Worldly pleasure is not on his list, and he is willing to wait on God's time. Wine, womanizing, worldly wealth and wickedness are out of his line. A pastor should live in love, integrity and with dignity in his public life; it is also required of him to live a holy life and in righteousness in private. X-rated movies, x-rated magazines, x- rated - shows and any x-rated materials in the internet are something that he avoids. He has a heart for the young people, young at hearts, and he yearns to love every individual. His yoke is the Lord's yoke. And his years are full of wisdom.

A pastor must not waste his time in the service of the King. He must learn to trust God even in a zigzag road or in a rough road. He tried to be zealous in his relationship with God and man. And as a pastor, he is marching to Zion. In God's grace and by God's grace: your pastor will serve you in spite of financial difficulties. He will love you and preach God's Word in spite of negative remarks of his people. He will be there for you in spite of your weakness, failure, unfaithfulness to God and in the church. He needs your prayer, your financial support, your understanding when things are not going well in your church. And most of all- he’s like you with feelings and emotion. He has spiritual downfall, failures, and he is hurting. He is a needy person and he is going through tough times like you do. He needs God's grace, God's mercy and he needs YOU! In (Hebrews 13:24) “Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.” The Bible says in (Hebrews 13:20-21) “20- Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21- Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”

Did you say “Thank You” to your pastor? Do you appreciate your pastor in spite of…or in the midst of…? This month is “Pastors Appreciation” month. Remember your pastor and pray for him! Do not criticize, gossip or say slanderous things about your pastor and his family; but pray for them, support them, and stand with them (except for immortality and unbiblical doctrinal issues), because he is your pastor. - By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD." (Proverbs 16:1 KJV)

Anyone like the word "Preparations"? Be it in physical, secular, spiritual or even in special events or occasions- the word "preparations" is a pain in front of those who are in charge of it. It's not an easy task to prepare or be a part of it. How much more in our spiritual life; when the Lord prepared us for the ministry, for a blessing, in our future and maturity, expect for surprises and the unexpected. But remember, Jesus prepared something great for all of us. (John 14:1- 6) are you prepared? - By Ely Roque Sagansay

"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." (Proverbs 15:1 KJV)

The word "Answer"' could leave us millions of questions in life. When I think about this word; the following words pops up in my mind.

• Salvation- "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 KJV)
• Savior- "And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son [to be] the Saviour of the world." (I John 4:14 KJV)

Wisdom of the Day from Mi Daily Devotion

"Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands." (Proverbs 14:1 KJV)

"House" is a shelter, a blessing, and a place of love and support. But unfortunately, to some; it's just a structure filled with anger, hate, hypocrisy, and resentment. No wonder a song from the oldies gave us the good description of a house- "A house is not a home..." If asked; "How would you describe and picture your home in your small or huge house? It's sad to know that many homes in every parts of the world is like a little hell on earth. I knew how it means to live in a house as such because I've seen a lot of those from different neighborhoods. Joshua said; "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke." (Proverbs 13:1 KJV)

The last word from this verse could be the hardest thing to do to someone and also the most difficult thing to swallow with pride. To be rebuked by someone means to accept your fault or mistake and it's not easy. But it can be very helpful if you accept rebuke in the spirit of meekness. Moses was a great leader but he was rebuked by his father in law. (Exodus 18:14- 24) King David was rebuked by Nathan the prophet. (II Samuel 12) King Saul was rebuked by Samuel the prophet. (I Samuel 13:7- 13) But Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea. (Mark 4:35- 41)- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish." (Proverbs 12:1 KJV)

"Loveth"- means "love" of which the writer actually was referring to someone who loves discipline at the same token will love knowledge... This is really true in my personal observation with those who strictly observe discipline and good instructions in their lifestyles. They are the people who are smart, knowledgeable or wisely live their lives with a purpose. But how do you exercise "love"? Do you love God and His Word by exercising its precepts with strict discipline? (Psalm 19:7- 11) - By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of the Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight." (Proverbs 11:1 KJV)

No one likes the word "False" unless it's false alarm or false diagnosis, when on your medical results you were falsely diagnosed with cancer. False accusations is not a good news either. The false doctrines could be heartbreaking and discouraging too. Any false declaration is unacceptable to anyone. One of the struggle of the disciples during their times was the false teachers and false accusers of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says; "Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;" (Matthew 26:59 KJV)- By Ely Roque Sagansay

REGRET

You've done something stupid, you said something you should have not said, you made a bad decision, and all went from failure after failures. You hurt someone and it made you felt so bad for what happened, and you felt sorry for yourself. I may call it "regret" and "remorse". Have you experienced such? "Repentance" is the other word for regret, but if used in theological term, it means turning back from Satan to God, and asking for the forgiveness of your sins.

"Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother." (Proverbs 10:1 KJV)

A wise son... The word "Wise" was used by Jesus Himself when He was here on earth. The word "wise" was commonly used in Bible times; from the Old Testament times, and (silent years), to the New Testament era. The wise are careful and cautious in their thought process, and in their choice of words. King Solomon wrote; "The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness." (Proverbs 15:2 KJV) A wise person will have good judgment, and will absolutely separate themselves from evil. "Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment." (Ecclesiastes 8:5 KJV)- By Ely Roque Sagansay

A Message for Honorable Congressman, Congresswomen, and Senators

I assumed both Houses and our public servants are all aware of all the killings and all kinds of violence in our school premises; be it in public schools, colleges, universities, and in some religious institutions. The root of the problems is not guns in the hands of the murderers; the real problem is the problem of the heart. It is also sometimes due to mental illness or psychological Problem. The recent violence that took the lives of 9 people is the living proof of an abominable acts of hate and uncontrolled mental problem.

The students and other citizens are defenseless when armed and violent people are out there killing for pleasure or hate. We need to do something to prevent and protect everyone. We need to do it NOW!

Guns is not the problem in this land, it's the heart of some of the people and their wrong mind set. It's a mental problem to some and a psychological disturbances in many individuals, homes or because of family conflicts which leads to domestic violence. A person with these kinds of load in life can kill or will murder with just a pen, a lighter, a knife, etc. for no reason.

To prevent and protect our countrymen and women; I wish the House and the Senate will draft and approve an "Admission Law" for Schools, Colleges and Universities that will control and screen the students.

Whereas, I also personally ask both Houses to draft and approve a Federal Law to examine or execute a background check, discreetly implement, and strictly perform in every students, teachers/professors, and staffs for signs and symptoms of any abnormalities and sicknesses such as; Medical, Mental, Psychological, Religious (For Islamic extremists) of which Pre- Screenings for all Enrollees before enrollment to both high schools and colleges/Universities will be a necessity. This will help prevent crimes in the said facilities and protect the good citizens of our great country. Thank you and God Bless The USA.- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:" (Proverbs 9:1 KJV)

"Builded" "Built"- both refers to wisdom being the foundation of a strong homes. Building a home requires God given wisdom to make it last until death, and it demands hard works, unconditional love, and understanding from every members of the family. God is the master architect and the foundation of the family, and we are the team members or workers. No one gets the credit but the Lord. God is the wisdom of every believer who trusted Him as Father, Creator, Savior, Lord and King. This is wisdom- Jesus said; "Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock." "Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?" (Proverbs 8:1 KJV)

What a sad words or question, "Doth not wisdom cry?" "Wisdom", and it cries! Indeed it sound impossible; but it's happening in the lives of many individuals, in many organizations, churches, and homes. You may have all the resources and be knowledgeable of the things of this world- but in your hearts and minds is the cry of wisdom to be exercised and put into practiced.

Even in an ordinary work and common ministries; God can give us wisdom. The Bible says; "Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded." Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee." (Proverbs 7:1 KJV)

When you hear the word "Keep", it may make you think of keepsakes, treasure, savings, or may be just something of value to you or your family. Not many people would think of God's Word- the Bible. To "Keep" God's Word actually means to put it into practice. I usually would think of the phrase "Keep on keeping on... for God or until you reach your goal. There will be rough roads, but keep your eyes on Jesus. There will be opposition, but "keep" doing things for the glory of God. There might be darkness, keep holding up the light of God. The Bible says; "O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:" (1 Timothy 6:20 KJV)- By Ely Roque Sagansay

"My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger," (Proverbs 6:1 KJV)

The word "surety" in this verse from the King James Version is a little bit deep, and may be difficult to understand for the non speaking English group of people. But to say it in our common English; it means "Security" "Guarantor" or "Collateral".  Would you risk your integrity and dignity for someone else's needs, comfort, convenience or difficulties in life. Notice what Solomon said; "He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure." (Proverbs 11:15 KJV) Our security is in Jesus and it's guaranteed firm, strong, and a blessing.- By Ely Roque Sagansay

Mi Daily Devotion_ JESUS IN YOU I CAN TRUST

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding:" )Proverbs 5:1 KJV)

Notice the words "My son...". But I want you to focus on the word "son". It honestly reminds me of the Son of God- the Lord Jesus Christ. If you don't have Jesus in your heart, may you will open your heart to Him (Jesus) today and accept Him as your Savior and Lord. You believe in His death, burial, and resurrection according to the Scriptures. That's the meaning of the gospel, the good news. (I Corinthians 15:1- 7) Humbly ask Him to forgive you of your sins because He is seeking for you! (Luke 19:10)- www.ely-roque-sagansay.com

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding." (Proverbs 4:1 KJV)

I love to quote what apostle Paul wrote in the book of Romans, he said; "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17 KJV) If I only have discreetly listened to the wisdom of God, I may have been a better person in my younger years. I believe many people are missing to hear from their parents, from God, and from those who are full of wisdom the good instructions and spiritual understanding. Hear ye people and understand the precept of God!- by Ely Roque Sagansay

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:" )Proverbs 3:1 KJV)

"Forget"- you will love this word if it's about your debt to pay. You will also love this word if it's about your memorable but bad past... If you will not have to think about the failure, the pain, your humiliating circumstances, and from whatever negative things in life. It's not senior moment but unbearable and undesirable moments in life. May we will not forget the word "Forget" especially if it's about God and His Word- the Bible. The Bible says; "But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased." (Hebrews 13:16 KJV)

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;" (Proverbs 2:1 KJV)

"Receive" is a beautiful word, especially if you're the recipient. But receive could be a pain too, only if you're in the ring, and all you see are the fists of your opponent playing like a machine gun. But I wish everyone will receive God's Word, God's love and forgiveness by faith on the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. The Bible says; "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12 KJV)

Word of Wisdom from Mi Daily Devotion

"The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;" (Proverbs 1:1 KJV)

The word "Proverbs" may just be a plain 'word' to some people, but to king Solomon, to many Chinese citizens, and to those who love wisdom; it means life, and guidance in life. To every Christians; it means it's from God. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." (James 1:5 KJV)- by Ely Roque Sagansay
