"My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger," (Proverbs 6:1 KJV)
The word "surety" in this verse from the King James Version is a little bit deep, and may be difficult to understand for the non speaking English group of people. But to say it in our common English; it means "Security" "Guarantor" or "Collateral". Would you risk your integrity and dignity for someone else's needs, comfort, convenience or difficulties in life. Notice what Solomon said; "He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure." (Proverbs 11:15 KJV) Our security is in Jesus and it's guaranteed firm, strong, and a blessing.- By Ely Roque Sagansay
