“And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things?
We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should
turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and
the sea, and all things that are therein:” (Acts 14:15 KJV)
· To Abraham, his
passion was when he obeyed the Lord’s voice to sacrifice his son Isaac in Mount
Moriah. (Genesis 22)
· To Daniel, it
was his desire to pray and to stand for the truth, and to be a testimony in the
kingdom. (Daniel 1- 3)
· To Paul, his
passion was to be a witness to the Jew first and also to the Greeks. No wonder
Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power
of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to
the Greek.” (Romans 1:16 KJV)
· To David, His passion
was to kill the bear, the lions, and the giant Goliath. His passion was to do the
cause of God. David said in I Samuel 17: 29 “Is there not a cause?” David’s
passion was his desire to do the cause of God and for God. His passion was to
bring honor to name of God by killing the giant Goliath who defies God.
As
a pastor, I have my own personal passion. My passion is to see people coming to
know Christ as their Lord and Savior. My passion is to see His saints grow in
the Lord. My passion is to see our youth being passionate in music, in the Word
of God, in the ministry and in mission. My passion for my family was for them
to get saved, to know the Lord as their Lord and Savior.
