Ezekiel 20:17 KJV
Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.

The prophet Ezekiel was not prophesying in this chapter of the book of Ezekiel but he was talking of the past. He was talking about the rebellious people and the mercy of God to them in spite of their stoney hearts.
