"17- Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18- And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;" (2 Corinthians 5:17, 18 KJV) The promised of a new heart, new life here and in heaven, new hope, new horizon; and a new courses, opportunities and excitement in our service to our God. This is God's amazing grace. The only condition is you have to be in Christ. "If any man be in Christ..." What an honor and a privilege to be in Him, with Him and for Him whatever it takes... How would you like to see yourself in the same condition and situation? Are you still relying in your old time religion, old time tradition and your old time ways of worship and belief… or in the true God and Savior Jesus Christ? Have you ever been asked by a friend this question; “What’s new with you?” Would it not be neat if you answer; “Jesus in my heart is what made everything new in me.”Apostle John wrote: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3 KJV)

(Matthew 14:24- 33) “26- And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27- But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28- And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 29- And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.” We have here the encounter of the disciples with the Lord Jesus Christ in the fourth watch of the night…Matthew Henry wrote: “The condition that the poor disciples were in at this time: That they were got into the midst of the sea when the storm rose. We may have fair weather at the beginning of our voyage, and yet meet with storms before we arrive at the port we are bound for. Therefore, let not him that girdeth on the harness boast as he that puts it off, but after a long calm expect some storm or other.” (Matthew Henry, The Bible Collection). We may take it in a negative way or with a positive mind set. We may stand over our circumstances and claim it by faith as God given potential or let fear stand in the way. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” (Hebrews 11:3)

(Genesis 37:8) “And his brethren said, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? Or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his works.” Now compare (Luke 19:14) “But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, we will not have this man to reign over us.” King Herod was afraid of losing his kingdom during the birthday of the Lord Jesus Christ. Because of the Lord’s birth; he thought Jesus will proclaim Himself King or the King of the Jews. Jesus is the King of kings. Are you afraid of losing your political power or your testimony? Are you concern of your political influence more than your spiritual influence?
Are you afraid of losing your grip to your leadership, ministry and position? Or you’re more afraid of losing your grip to the Word of God? During the first Christmas; King Herod was afraid because of the issue of “who would be the leader”? Who will reign over us? Who would be the king? Herod’s question was; “Is He (Jesus) the king of the Jews?” The crowd did not recognized Jesus as King. “And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. 12- And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.” (Matthew 27:11-12)

Acts 1:1- 11
“2- Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: 3- To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:” We worship the same God and we were saved by the blood of the Lamb. What is our responsibility as a Christian? We need to do what we have to do. Apostle Luke said; “…through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles…”Do you have the guilt feelings when you see the lost living in poverty? Don't feel guilty. As a disciple of the Lord, we have to accept the responsibility Jesus has given us. We have to help those who are in needs and the greatest need of those people who lives in poverty is the Lord Jesus Christ. Do you display the power of God by being willing to do what He commanded us to do? Do you let the Holy Spirit work in you and through you by your presence in the mission field? People need Jesus today and Jesus wants us to step out of our comfort zone and be a witness. Do you have a clear idea that we are supposed to care for the lost souls? Jesus set the example for us to follow. “But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:” (Philippians 2:7)

(I John 5:3). “This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.” The Bible says, “And His commandments are not grievous.” Why do we obey authorities? Should we be under His yoke and be the burden bearer? (Matthew 11:28- 30) What are the reasons why you obey God? Do you obey to please and honor His Holy name? Or we obey the Lord as an expression of our worship to Him? What does it mean “…And His commands are not burdensome?” Does it mean that if we obey the Lord, the load in this life will be lighter? We have so many burdens to carry even as we get up in the morning. We carry with us the financial load in our home, the load of responsibilities and problems of life. The load that’s unbearable and too much for us to bear is the load of sin. Do you believe that our disobedience to God will add unnecessary weight in our life? Our obedience to God and His Word will bring joy, peace, happiness and true satisfaction to our life and our family. “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”(John 14:15) Your obedience to God will help you discover more of Him and of His love. He wants us to experience His love, His goodness and His grace through our step of faith. “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.” (John 15:10)

(Psalms 19:7-10) “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.” “I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from the Savior is communicated to us through this Book.” (Abraham Lincoln) Do you feed, nurture or cultivate your life with the Word of God? “I believe a knowledge of the Bible without a college course is more valuable than a college course without a Bible.” (William Lyon Phelps, Former professor at Yale University) Do you have a daily goal to read and meditate on His Word? Do you have spiritual dependence on God’s Word for daily Christian living? The psalmists wrote; “Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. 105- NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalms 119:104- 105) What value does the Word of God has for us? King David said; “It’s more precious than gold…” Make Bible reading not just a part of your life, but it must be your life.

(Numbers 11: 4 – 8) “And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, who shall give us flesh to eat?” Lusting will lead to complain and murmurings, to weeping, to questioning God and His Word and then rebellion. We doubt God and His Word as the final results. “We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:” Verse 5. Do you focus on God or in your worldly pleasures? The Christian’s whose heart and mind is still in the world and in its own Egypt will always be out of focus to God. Do you compare what you have in your garage or on your table with what your neighbors may have in theirs? Do you believe that there’s something better than fish, cucumber, onions and garlic? There’s something better than what the whole world can offer. The Israelites longed for it. The Israelites in the Old Testament did not have the same attitude like some of the Filipinos whose diet are rice, fish and vegetables almost every day, and won’t have any problem eating them day and night. Apostle Paul wrote; “11- Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12-I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. ” (Philippians 4:11- 12)

(Matthew 28: 19 – 20) “19- Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. 20- Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age. Amen.” Are you involved in winning souls for Christ? “A church that does not evangelize will soon fossilize.” “Go ye” should actually read “As ye go”. Jesus may have told his disciples already to “GO”; it means He was telling them “As ye go…” Does your church “go and preach”, get involved in mission or evangelism and actively and intentionally witness to the lost? (Acts 1:8) Do you teach and share the Word of God in the pulpit, in your Sunday school class, and Bible study? (I Timothy 4:13; 6:3- 4) How do baptize your new converts; is it by immersion? It means you dip the candidate for baptism in the water. (Matthew 3:6- 17) Do you observe His teaching and the partaking of the Lord’s Supper faithfully, until He comes? Are you in obedience to His Word and His will? (I Corinthians 11:23- 34) Those are the 4 basic teachings in the Bible which I believe could help the new believers grow in His grace. The Bible says: As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,” (I Timothy 1:3)

Genesis 17: 1 “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”
What does it mean to “Walk before me…”? Imagine Abraham was already 90 years old and he still has to live the life God wanted for him to be. He still has to live a life that is pleasing to God and a life as mature believer. The common excused is… “I’m too old for this…” “I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.” (Psalms 116: 9) We must walk with honesty and with integrity. “But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity; redeem me, and be merciful unto me.” (Psalms 26: 11) How do we treat ourselves as an individual, as a father or as a believer of the Lord Jesus Christ? How do we treat our employee/s, our subordinate and our job? Our attitude on money, and small things that may not so important to us or to others could either be an instrument of God for His honor or can be used by the devil to destroy us. Are we a vessel for His honor or a dirty vessel? God said to Abraham; “Walk before me…” it means “follow me or follow my footsteps”. We must follow the Lord’s leadership in our lives. The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.” (John 1:43)

“16- Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith. 17- Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.” (Proverbs 15:16- 17)
The Book of Proverbs chapter fifteen verses sixteen to seventeen shows us the good pictures of many homes, relationships, attitudes and the different diets of men. The evil hearts and broken homes are the ugly pictures in these verses. Are you satisfied with little…? Which do you prefer: 1- “little with the fear of the LORD” 2- “great treasure and trouble therewith.” Would you live in a small house and simple life as long as there is love at home or live in a big house with materials things and wealth to enjoy; but love, peace understanding and the fear of the Lord is absent? Will you be content and appreciate what you have on your table and feel the love of God and the love of your family, or choose the other side of the coin? I understand the feelings of those who went to bed with empty stomach, but there’s nothing compared to an empty heart. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5)

John 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
People sometimes would say that they don’t need to pray because God knows their needs anyways. But prayer is not merely asking for something you need from the Lord. It’s communicating and building a good and intimate relationship with our Savior. How’s your prayer life with God? How’s your relationship with God, and with your family? Do you spend quality time for God and family? Communication is important to the health of any relationships. Keep the communication open to God by reading His Word. It’s almost impossible to have a close relationship with someone you rarely communicate with. And for a good relationship, it needs to be primarily positive communication. Do you listen and know His voice? Jesus set an example for every Christian to follow when He prayed to the Father earnestly, sincerely and consistently. We must start a “prayerful” life. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” (Matthew 6:6)

(Matthew 12: 34- 37) “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Just like what my friend used to say, “No further explanation, it is crystal clear.” Whatever is in your heart will surely flow out naturally. If your thoughts and what is in your heart is corrupt and distorted, it will surely show in your deeds and words. Did you know that your words and the way you speak is an expression of what’s going on inside of you? Did you know that 18 inches from the top of your head down is a wellspring of blessing, wisdom or gossip and critical spirit? Did you know that you can either make your heart be an overflowing vessel of wisdom and knowledge or you can make it corrupt and a vessel of sin? (Mark 7:21- 23; James 3:1- 18) “The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.” (Proverbs 18: 4)

I Corinthians 15:3- 5- “3- For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4- And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5- And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
Christmas opened the door to Christ’s death on the cross of Calvary. The cross of Calvary closed the door to the Old Testament laws and ceremonial laws. The burial of Jesus Christ in the tomb was the burial of sin and the sting of death with Him for 3 days. Christ’s resurrection opened up the grave for the saints and for our salvation. One day the heaven's gate will open up for all His saints during the rapture. (I Thessalonians 4:13- 18; Acts 1:8- 10) What have we done for Him? He suffered, He paid the price of sin, He prepared the place for us in heaven; what do we have for Him? Do you please God and are you willing to serve Him? He’s given his all, what can you render unto the Lord? Apostle Paul wrote: “1- I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2- And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:1- 2)

Exodus 4:1-4 “1- And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. 2- And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. 3- And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. 4- And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:” God’s power in our lives as believers is something that is super natural. We can be a miracle is a split of a seconds and in our everyday life. Do you experience and enjoy the power of God in your life as a Christian? Do you do the right thing for God and listen and obey His small voice. I believe that Satan’s power can’t match with God’s power, but we have to be sensitive to the voice of God. “Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.” (Exodus 7:11) How do we achieve or experience the Lord’s power in our life? What is the secret of their success and personal experience with God ?  “Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.” (Exodus 15:6)

(John 1:29) “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto Him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” Is Jesus the Messiah, a prophet or a hoax? For us Christians- Jesus is the Messiah from heaven. He came to save the world of sin. To the Jews and Muslims- He is a prophet, a good man or a hero.
For the atheists- Jesus is a hoax. To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. (Psalm 14:1) What do you think of Jesus’ life and death? Did it really happen? Did He become a martyr to a righteous cause? Was His death a sacrifice of a holy life brought about by sinful men? We don’t need another proof or man- made explanation, because the Word of God (the Bible) has all the truth and the proof of His existence. We have archaeological findings, the changed lives of innumerable numbers of people from different color and cultures that came to know Him. “From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priest and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.” (Matthew 16:21)
