“28- And fear not them
which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him
which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 10:28 KJV)
Hell is a sensitive topic to many people and
churches. Some may get offended on the subject. During the 80’s and the 90’s,
the preaching on the subject of hell was on fire. And people sometimes will
think that way when you preach about hell. They thought you’re scaring them
like they’re under fire so they will accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. Hell
in the Bible is not a symbol, or a picture of something in relation to earthly
pain or suffering. And it’s not just an experience or feeling. Hell is a real
place with real people, and a real punishment for those who reject the love of
God and the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:16; 36; Luke 16:19- 31)
Jesus himself preached about hell. In (Mark 9:45- 47) Jesus gave us a good
picture of hell in those verses. The term hell in its common usage in the
Scriptures designates to future punishment to the wicked, to those who will
reject God and eternal life.
In hell; there will be no more love, no more
forgiveness, no more peace, no more rest, and no more joy. No family to enjoy,
no more worship and singing. Your chance and second chance will end at death.
Hell is a place of no more in a negative sense. It’s the opposite of heaven. In
heaven; there will be no more hate, no more war, no more sorrow and pain, no
more bills to pay. And there will be no more tears, hunger and thirst. God
loves us that He gave us His one and only Son so He can save us from the
punishment of our sins. The Bible says; “He that
believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son
shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36 KJV)
