“And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my
people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their
taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;” (Exodus 3:7 KJV)
The devil is our taskmasters indeed. He will send
sorrows and unnecessary burdens to us. “And it came
to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of
Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up
unto God by reason of the bondage.” (Exodus 3:7; 2:23) The devil has all
the power to oppress us, and if given the opportunity he will totally destroy
us. The life of the Hebrews during the times of Moses is a picture of the life
of Christians who are being oppressed by the enemy. The Scripture says; “Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is
come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians
oppress them.” (Exodus 3:9 KJV)
What does it mean to be oppressed? It
would meant, that you will experience a spiritual battle against the devil. The
believers are the devil’s target for obsession, and then oppression. But we
can’t be possessed by the devil. And not even be re- possessed by the devil. (Ephesians
6:10-18) We can have victory in the Lord Jesus Christ.
His precious blood and the rebuke in the name of Jesus and by the blood of the
Lamb will cause the devil to depart from you. The Bible says; “And they
overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and
they loved not their lives unto the death.” (Revelation 12:11 KJV)
