FREEDOM!!!!!
(John 8:- 32; 36) “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 36- If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
Freedom is more important than anything in this world. Wealth, worldly pleasures, wine, women and worldly wisdom are not freedom. True freedom is in the Lord Jesus Christ. King Solomon said in (Ecclesiastes 1:14) “I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.” According to Matthew Henry; “Those whom Christ makes free are free indeed. It is not alethos , the word used (v. 31) for disciples indeed, but ontos — really. It denotes, [1.] The truth and certainty of the promise, the liberty which the Jews boasted of was an imaginary liberty; they boasted of a false gift; but the liberty which Christ gives is a certain thing, it is real, and has real effects. The servants of sin promise themselves liberty, and fancy themselves free, when they have broken religion’s bands asunder; but they cheat themselves. None are free indeed but those whom Christ makes free.” (The Bible Collection)
Notice what Paul said in (Ephesians 2:12- 13) 12- “That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13- But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”
