WE ARE CHRIST’S IMITATORS

MI DAILY DEVOTION 07- 05- 11
WE ARE CHRIST’S IMITATORS
(I Peter 2:21) “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:”
“Imitator”- according to dictionary means: “To copy is to duplicate an original as precisely as possible, To mimic is to make a close imitation, To parody is either to imitate with comic effect or to attempt a serious imitation and fail.”
As God’s children, we must be submissive to His Word. We also must live, acts and be a humble servant to the living God. And we must be God’s showcase of His love, miracles and blessings. God wants for us to be partakers of Christ’s sufferings. (I Peter 2: 20) “For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.” Apostle Peter said: “because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:” That was a hard saying and not so easy to live on… As Christ’s disciples, we are expected to be like Him in words, in deeds, in our walk with God and in charity. Jesus said, “The world will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.” Notice what Apostle Paul advice to young Timothy in (I Timothy 4:12) “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
