“GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD”

MI DAILY DEVOTION
MONDAY
“GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD”
(Psalm 95:1- 2) 1- “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. 2- Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.”

The psalmist was telling the people around him and he was relaying the message of thanksgiving to the present generation. When you come to God, you come to Him with songs and with a joyful noise. It really doesn’t matter to the psalmist as what he was going through... As for him; he will sing praises to God and he will come before His presence with praises and thanksgiving in His heart. (Psalm 92:1- 2) “A Psalm or Song for the sabbath day. It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: 2-To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,” What the Lord wants for His people is come before Him in worship and to enter into His gates with a different perspective and spirit. One of the best things to do for God this “Thanksgiving week” is to enter into His gates with thanksgiving in our heart. It means you will come before Him in humility of worship and with a thankful heart. (Psalm 100:4- 5) 4- “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5-For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” Even in our trials and tribulations; we can see the Lord’s goodness, mercy and most of all His love for us. He even gives us the strength in our weakness, in our pain and sorrow. (Psalm 94:14; 18) 14- “For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.  18- When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.”
