Proverbs 13:1 KJV
"A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke."
A pastor who preaches and teaches the Word of God has also the responsibility of rebuking and correcting his family, his flocks and those who live in sins and wickedness. Your "rebuke" will either shape them or will start to make them hate you, it depends on their attitude. The Bible says; "Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee." (Proverbs 9:8 KJV) When you rebuke someone, you are showing him or her your care and love. It may hurts for a while (truth hurts) but soon it will be for their benefit. King Solomon wrote; "Open rebuke is better than secret love." (Proverbs 27:5 KJV) - By Ely Roque Sagansay
