“EVERY WISE WOMAN BUILDETH HER HOUSE…”

10- 08- 10 MI DAILY DEVOTION (Proverbs 14:1)
“EVERY WISE WOMAN BUILDETH HER HOUSE…”
“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”
It’s a beautiful verse designed not just for the wise women but for every husband. “Every wise woman buildeth her house…” It means a good and responsible wife. Wives should be a channel of blessing to their husband and children. The wise wives are those who are building their home in the Fear of the Lord. They work hard for the success of their children. She is Loving, Considerate and takes care of the affairs of the family. Here’s I believe is a good personal profile of the “Wise Women”. They have the 10 “P’s”, but we may just have to start with the 1st 3 “P’s” which would be:
1) PIOUS- The good example is Mary the mother of Jesus in the flesh. (Luke 1: 41-42) 41- “And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 42- And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.”
2) PROSPEROUS- Prosperity is not about the accumulation of money and things, it’s about keeping your marriage, your home, bringing up your children in the fear of the Lord. The most important thing is your relationship with the Lord and with your spouse and children. (Proverbs 31: 11; 28; 30) “The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 28- Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. 30- Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” You are living together in happiness and peace and in the Fear of the Lord. You honor His Word in your life. (Joshua 1:8- 9) 8- “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9- Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
3) PROVIDER- In some parts of the world as part of the culture, it is the wives who provides for the needs of the family and it is the wives who takes care of the homes. Here in the States, sometimes both parents are working to support the family. In the Philippines, mostly it’s the man who would be the provider. In (I Timothy 5: 8) “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” The picture of a good wife and mother is recorded in the book of Proverbs chapter thirty one. Notice what it says in (Proverbs 31: 13- 14) 13- “She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14- She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.”
