WICKEDNESS OVERTHROWETH THE SINNER

10- 05- 10 MI DAILY DEVOTION (Proverbs 13:6, 9, 13)
WICKEDNESS OVERTHROWETH THE SINNER
6- “Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner. 9- The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. 13- Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.”
The verses are a comparison between evil and good. It was Solomon’s personal experienced on what the evil and the good, sin and righteousness will do to us. Solomon experienced them as God’s servant. The pain and the consequences of sin and the joy of righteousness and its God given reward for those who practiced them.
King Solomon the man who is full of wisdom warned us: 1) Proverbs 4: 14 “Enter not into the path of the wicked…). It’s a warning for us not to enter into the gates of sin and practicing sinners. ENTER NOT- The ticket to enter in into their path is free, but you have to pay for the consequences.
In (Proverbs 4: 15) it says, “Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.” Again King Solomon the man who is full of wisdom warned us: 2) “Avoid it…” The writer knows that going to the place of sinners is dangerous. And the reason for that is to avoid the temptation of entering into it. Not even to pass by it. In (Proverbs 4: 17) it says, “For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.” It is obvious that wickedness is their life. They eat and drink in wickedness and in darkness. In (Proverbs 4: 19) “The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.”
Praise God (Proverbs 4: 18) “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” As Christians, we are the light of the world and the Bible says that our “…path is as the shining light.”
