SOLOMON’S WISDOM AND COUNSELS

10- 06- 10 MI DAILY DEVOTION (Proverbs 5:1- 2)
SOLOMON’S WISDOM AND COUNSELS
1- “My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: 2- That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.”
As you grow; be it in spiritual or physical, in business or in sports, you learn from reading, getting some advice or from your personal experience. Whether you are in Business, in Sports, in the Ministry, a Pastor or just an ordinary individual, we will for certain get an advice from a friend or love ones. You will get good counsel or advice, bad advice and sometimes unsolicited advice. In (Proverbs 6: 6) “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:” There must be something in the ants that human being should learn. When we were in Belize, we were told by a tourists guide in the jungle about ants and how they work hard and in unity. And he actually showed us the big Ants and their pattern.
In (proverbs 5:1-2) Solomon was addressing himself to his son in verse 1, he said “My son…” But we must also remember that, as sons; many of us are young at hearts or physically young, spiritually young and some are young in experience in life as general. Solomon said, “…attend unto my wisdom” “bow thine ear to my understanding.” Notice the 4 important words: “attend” “wisdom” “bow” and “understanding”. You do not separate wisdom and understanding. As you learn from the Lord, you learn from this world too. (Revelation 2:29) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Open your ears and your heart to Christ who died on the Cross for your sins. Be ready to hear what the Spirit is saying to you and put them into practice. Exercise and apply Solomon’s wisdom and understanding in your daily life. Read the Book of Proverbs everyday at least a Chapter a day.
Another advice from the wisest man that ever lived is in (Proverbs 5:2) “That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.” 3) “That thou mayest regard discretion …” Someone made a comment about this verse, he said: “So you may act wisely and not blindly.” Even king Solomon who is a king with a kingdom, needs the wisdom of the King of kings.
