LETTER “D” IS FOR DEVELOPING YOUR GIFTS

10- 17- 10 MI DAILY DEVOTION (I Timothy 4: 14; II Timothy 1: 6)
LETTER “D” IS FOR DEVELOPING YOUR GIFTS
14- “Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.”
6- “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.”
Music Prescription is a very young music business with just about more than 2 years old in its existence. The Philippine International Christian Church is also new with just about 3 years and 4 months. But my church is working in partnership with the Music Prescription in developing new music artists who has the potential of stepping up into the next level. The purpose of the church and music prescription is not to develop their talents to be on the national level or for the artists to be popular so they could make more money, (unless the Lord opens the door for them). But to develop them so they could perform at their best and use their talents in an excellent way for the glory of God. The Lord deserves our best. We have Worship Night at the RAMADA hotel where we feature some of the new artist for a solo concert; so they could develop their confidence in their solo performance. This could be 1 way of developing their talents and not neglecting their gift/s and talent/s. One of the reasons why young people are so scared and afraid to take a step or take the risks so they could step up to the next level is because of fear. Fear is 1 of the hindrance why so many gifted people just watch those who are being used of the Lord on the frontline. (II Timothy 1: 7) “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
I hope and pray that as believers and servants of the Lord of lords King of kings, we would desire to give our best for our Lord. Don’t let fear gets in the way in giving your best and your talents for the Lord and His glory.
If you remember the parable of the talents in (Matthew 25: 14- 30) where the Lord gave talent to 3 of His servants. The 1st one has 5 talents and he used it as the way His Lord expected him to do. The 2nd one has 2 talents in which he did well too and the 3rd has 1, but he hid his talent. His reason was unacceptable- he was afraid. (Matthew 25: 24- 27) 24- Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strowed: 25- And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26- His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strowed: 27- Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.”
