GODLY CHRISTIAN LIFE IS NECESSARY ON “G” FOR CHRISTIAN’S ABC’s

GODLY CHRISTIAN LIFE IS NECESSARY ON “G” FOR CHRISTIAN’S ABC’s

12- “Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;”
You may ask a question, why godliness or godly Christian life is necessary? The answer would be in (I Timothy 4: 8) 8- “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” It’s very clear that godliness as according to Paul is profitable unto all things. Even David himself recognized that living a godly life is of a truth acceptable and well pleasing to God. The Lord will hear our prayers when we live a godly life. (Psalm 4: 1, 3-4) 1- “To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm of David. Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. 3- But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. 4- Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.” The Apostle Paul showed us and reminded us of why godly life is so important and necessary in the Christian arena and to the world around us. (II Corinthians 1: 12) “For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.”
Indeed, you cannot separate rejoicing, testimony, good conscience, simplicity, sincerity, integrity, wisdom and righteousness from godliness. We can name more of some of the positive results in our Christian life as we live godly for the Lord. People will see, hear and know Jesus in us and through us. If you will live a godly life, your unbelieving love ones, friends and co-workers may not like it and not be happy with you and your lifestyle. Living a godly life will not give you the assurance that everybody will give you a tap on your back. You may even get persecuted for living a godly life. (II Timothy 3: 10- 13) 10- “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11- Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13- But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
Here are some of the benefits of living a godly life as promised to us in the Word of God, (II Peter 2: 9) “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:”
(I Timothy 6: 6) “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
