“THEY ARE NEW EVERY MORNING…”

FRIDAY
MI DAILY DEVOTION
THEY ARE NEW EVERY MORNING…
(Lamentations 3:22- 23)
22- “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23- They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
God’s chastisement to the believers is not a bad sign; it’s actually a good sign. It’s not like you’re going into a cross fire with God when you’re being chastised by Him. He would not be called a just and Holy God if He will just close His eyes; even IF we are going into the wrong direction. But, because God is faithful, He put His hands on us when we are living in sin as the children of a Holy God. As for me, the opposite of “My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord…” is “My son, treasure thou the chastening of the Lord…” We know that God loves us and He deals with us as sons. That first phrase in verse 7 is a treasure and Christians should put value on it. “If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons;” Because the opposite of this is in verse 10 in which people especially those who are going through chastisement should be aware of and be sensitive to the Lord’s dealing. God’s faithfulness gives us a better life and future... (Hebrews 12:5- 7) “And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6- For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7- If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
