“7- And as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at
hand. 8- Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils:
freely ye have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:7- 8 KJV)
It is written in the book of Luke 8:1 that Jesus went out to
preach with His twelve disciples. He preached in every city and villages, and
showing them the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. It is very obvious that
Jesus was not only showing and training His disciples how to witness and tell
others about the good news of the Kingdom, but He also set a good example to
them to follow. Now Jesus in Matthew 10:7 commanded them to “go”. He said; “And
as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Preaching or witnessing is one of the
main or primary objectives of every believer. And the next four objectives of
Jesus were healing of the sick, cleansing of the lepers (both spiritual and
physical leprosy), raising the dead (Spiritually dead) and to cast out the
devils. There could be more objectives that are not listed in the said verses. But I believe
with all my heart that God is still into it. The ministries mentioned in verse
eight are just parts of the greater vision that God had in stored for His
children.
How many Christians are committed in
doing such things for the kingdom of heaven? We were saved to do God’s business
and be faithful and committed to our calling as servants of Christ. Would you
be willing to share the gospel and help the sick? Apostle Paul wrote; “For we
are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath
before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10 KJV)
