“My son, attend to my words; incline
thine ear unto my sayings. 21- Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them
in the midst of thine heart. 22- For they are life unto those that find them,
and health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:20- 22 King James Version)
You can’t stop your fleshly desires to
work within you which sometimes can be manifested in your walk and talk as
human. It is our fleshly cravings for sin, and to the stuff that pushed us into
the desires that does not take us into God’s standard in the Bible. The wisest
man’s advice is for us to; “attend” “incline” “depart” “keep”. We cannot stop
temptation from coming our way, and we have no control of the devil’s hand to
offer us something enticing, but we can overcome such in the name of Jesus, and
by the power of His blood. (Revelation 12:10- 12)
Jesus,
the Son of God was tempted by the enemy. (Matthew 4:1- 11) But He did not make
Himself subject to such temptation. The enemy was serious about it. Satan
really wanted Him to submit to his deception. The devil can do the same to us
Christians. We need to exercise what king Solomon bid us do according to
(Proverbs 4:20- 22).
Temptation
becomes sin in the heart, in the head, and in the hands of man when one’s decision
is placed under the control of it. No wonder apostle Peter was pressing the
believers to be sober and watch diligently. He warned; “8- Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil,
as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9- Whom resist stedfast in the
faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that
are in the world.” (I Peter 5:8- 9 KJV)
