MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD

MI DAILY DEVOTION
THURSDAY
MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE UNTO THE LORD
(Psalm 100:1- 3)
A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. 2- Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3- Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

When the Bible said “Make a joyful noise…” it doesn’t mean you talk, shout, yell or make some strange sounds such as the tribal revelry. You make a joyful noise not in worship of the gods or to satisfy our personal gratification, but we make a joyful noise unto the Lord our God as we give honor and glory unto His name. We will have a joyful hearts and there will be rejoicing as we look up to the same God with a heart of service to Him and for His people. The Psalmist said; “Serve the LORD with gladness…” If the pastors, leaders, churches and Christian organizations will only have a servant heart; filling up the pews, teaching in a Sunday school class, giving to God or stewardship as a whole will not be a problem. The Psalmist said; “come before his presence with singing.” He wants for us to come into His presence with songs and praises. I believe that it doesn’t really matter if it’s a hymn, a praise and worship songs or a contemporary type of music as long as you give the praise, the honor and the glory to God. I remember when we were in Belize and Guatemala the other year. When we were just by ourselves worshipping God, we used different genre of music and when we were with the Belize group, we sang different genre and tempo. But in Guatemala; it was way different in language, in tempo, the kind or type of music as well as how they express themselves as they sing. The Bible said; “we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.”  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (Psalm 100:4)
