WHAT IS FAITH?
(Hebrews 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
What is your definition of faith? Notice the secular or the world views of faith; “Faith is confidence or trust in a person or entity.[1] [2] Depending on the religion, faith is belief in a single god or multiple gods or in the doctrines or teachings of the religion. Informal usage of faith can be quite broad, including trust or belief without proof,[citation needed] and "faith" is often used as a substitute for "hope", "trust" or "belief".(Wikipedia)
Faith is looking to God and seeing God with our spiritual eyes. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. (Isaiah 45:22) Blind Bartimaeus is a good example in the New Testament. (Mark 10:46- 52) Compare verses 47 and 52; And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. 52- And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
It is Hearing God through the Bible and His Holy Spirit. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. (Isaiah 55:3) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.18- But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world. (Romans 10:17-18)When was the last time you exercise your faith? It’s either you’re living by fix or by faith. When I was in the Bible College we have a saying when we don’t have money for transportation to our Christians service; “Let’s walk by feet and not by sight.” For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. (Romans 4:3)
