GOD’S FORGIVENESS ON SINNERS

04- 28- 11 MI DAILY DEVOTION
GOD’S FORGIVENESS ON SINNERS
We are not worthy to stand before God. We are unfit for the Kingdom of God. We don’t deserve the love and grace of God. We are not worthy of His mercy and death on the Cross. We are like dust, mud, dirty and like leprosy in the sight of God. We are nothing in spite of our accomplishments in life and in spite of our educational attainment. We don’t deserve this life and the life to come in Heaven. And we are not fit to communicate to a Holy God because of our sins. But God the Father put all our sins in the hands of Jesus when He was crucified on the Cross of Calvary. He laid it on Him and made Him sin for us. (Isaiah 53:6; II Corinthians 5:21) 6- “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 21- For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” God was not hard on us or was He hard in dealing with our sins. He was merciful to us sinners. We cannot measure the distance between Heaven and earth; so is the mercy of God towards us, sinners. (Psalm 103: 10- 12) 10- “He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11- For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. 12- As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” When we come to Him for forgiveness, He is faithful and just to forgive us and He will remember our sins no more. (Isaiah 44: 22; I John 1: 8- 9) 22- “I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.”  8- If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” The Lord will not turn His back from us. His own creations and His own chosen Nation have turned their back from the Lord, but God is faithful and true and He will not turn His back to a repenting sinners. He will not look back to our sins and call to remembrance on what we have done against Him and His Word. Imagine the Lord having our sins in His hands and throwing them all behind Him. And the Book of Hebrews said that, “He will remember our sins no more…” That’s a great blessing and promise from the Lord. (Isaiah 38:17) “Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.” Here’s another great assurance from the Lord about our sins from the Book of (Micah 7:19) “He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.” Man had been to the moon but no one has ever been to the floor of the deepest ocean in the world. And I’m glad that God cast all my sins into the depths of the sea.
In the Book of Romans, Apostle Paul gave us the assurance that God’s grace is sufficient for us. (Roman 5:20- 21) 20- “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21- That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”
