JOSEPH’S HURDLES AND BLESSINGS TO SUCCESS
- “And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. 2- And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3- And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. 4- And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.”
We know that Joseph made it to the top but it was not an easy climb for him. Joseph actually went through a lot of pain and sorrow and along with that are some of the positive things that came along his way. Let’s check on some of the hurdles and blessings that Joseph went through. These are just the first 12 hurdles and blessings.
- The Lord was with him. (Genesis 39:1- 4)
- He was loved (Genesis 37:3)
- He was a hard worker (Genesis 37:2)
- He was a dreamer (Genesis 37:5)
- He did not took revenged (Genesis 37:4, 8)
- He kept the communication open (Genesis 37:8; 10)
- He was available and obedient to his parents (Genesis 37:13)
- He did not complain and he did not have the wrong attitude towards his brethren in spite of what they did to him. (Genesis 37:23- 24)
- He did not resist and fought back to his brethren’s evil plot and evil deeds. (Genesis 37:23- 24)
- He did not try to escape from the merchants’ hands. (Genesis 37:28)
- He did not boasts neither was he proud of what he possesses. (Genesis 39:1- 6)
- He refused the lust of the flesh and to commit adultery. He also refused to take advantage of his employer’s goodness and faithfulness. (Genesis 39:7- 9) Again notice what it says in (Genesis 39:23) “The keeper of the prison looked not to any thing that was under his hand; because the LORD was with him, and that which he did, the LORD made it to prosper.”
