TUESDAY
“HE’S FROM BETHLEHEM…”
(Micah 5:2) “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”
Before Jesus was even been born, the Lord prophesied of the coming Messiah already. (Genesis 3:15) The Lord also prepared the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 1:18- 33) He also designated and marked the place where He (The Messiah) would be born. (Micah 5:2) The Father commanded the angels to inform and appoint the persons who will be involved in the Birth of Jesus. (Matthew 1:16- 25) The Holy trinity had it planned even before the foundation of the world. (John 1:1- 18) And the Holy Trinity has a purpose and the main purpose was recorded in (Matthew 1:21) “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” What would you be feeling and what would people think of you if you’re from a little town of Bethlehem and grew up in Nazareth? When I’m out of State or out of the country and people will asked me where I’m from…? And I say; “I’m from Michigan” Some would say; “In Detroit!” with either negative facial expression or negative remarks or reaction on their face. Then I would say; “I’m from Taylor, about 30 minutes from Detroit.” And you can sense the switch on their facial reactions. Detroit is a beautiful place. Jesus is the Savior of the world. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords; but He was born in a manger with just swaddling clothes wrapped over Him. But He was born in a place so special in the heart of God. Matthew Henry wrote; “Beth-lehem signifies the house of bread, the fittest place for him to be born in who is the bread of life.” Jesus is your House of Bread- would you trust Him today?
