JESUS IS THE CENTER OF CHRISTMAS,
WHY CANCEL IT?
(John 1:11) “He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”
The world celebrates CHRISTmas in a different perspective. Some overlooked the CHRIST of CHRISTmas. I was watching the movie about “The Man Who Saved CHRISTmas” It’s a true story of a man by the name of AC Gilbert. During World War II, the defense department asked Mr. Gilbert to open his toy factory for the US government to use to manufacture war supplies. And to make the long story short, he let the government use his facilities. But during those times of hardship and war, the government wanted to cancel CHRISTmas; so people will start buying bonds instead of toys for CHRISTmas. In one of their meeting, Mr. AC Gilbert said; “… If you cancel CHRISTmas, you’re cancelling hope” It’s so sad to know that some CHRISTians are cancelling CHRISTmas because of some religious belief and practices or because CHRISTmas was identified with paganism. An individual I know few years ago won’t celebrate CHRISTmas, because he said, “the word CHRISTmas is not in the Bible.” While some are for personal reasons. We respect other people’s culture, traditions and belief, but if you’re a Christian and you know that CHRISTmas can draw people to the Lord, then it’s about time to ponder about it in your heart. But why cancel CHRISTmas if CHRISTmas could bring hope to the hopeless and love, joy, peace and forgiveness. I’ve seen hundreds of people came to know the Lord in a CHRISTmas functions, activities or concerts. It’s better and great than not having CHRISTmas at all. Jesus was born in the flesh and the modern generations called it “CHRISTmas”; you better believe it. (John 1:14) “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
