WHO CARES ABOUT THE GENEALOGY…?
(Matthew 1:16- 17) 16- “And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. 17- So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.”

The Lord Jesus Christ is the key of the New Testament and He locked the Old Testament with His birth. And it’s not just by His birth but His life, His death, burial and resurrection. The New Testament started with Christ and ended with the prophecies of His reign according to the Book of Revelation. In theological term, it is called Eschatology. (Revelation 22) 13- “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” His genealogy has special significant in the Bible because it ushered the Old Testament story and His story from the past to the future. The Old Testament looks forward to His life and death and His reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. But the New Testament looks back to the fulfillment of the prophecies of His birth and looks forward to His coming on the rapture of the church... The Lord Jesus Christ was the one who completed the New Testament and He is the key to the grace mentioned in the Bible. CHRISTmas is the key to the Cross of Calvary. The Old and the New Testament is divided by what Jesus did on Mount Calvary, but both looks up into it. It’s great to know that salvation is made possible through the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 1:14; 3:16; Ephesians 2:8- 9) He is the center of CHRISTmas; there will be no grace, no salvation, no hope without Him (Titus 2:13) “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”
