“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek,
and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8- For every one that asketh receiveth; and
he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:7- 8 King James Version)
No one wants to have a problem with their
cell phone. Or no one wants to receive the incoming call, but I can’t make an
outgoing call. You may just treat it like a useless but expensive piece of
junk. We don’t just communicate to God by praying to Him, but we must also let
Him talk to us by reading and meditating on His Word. We need His revelation
and the illumination of the Holy Spirit. No matter how great the promises of
God to us are, and no matter how precious the Word of God to us as His children;
if we don’t use it and don’t exercise what it says, it would mean nothing to
us. The Bible says; “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving
your own selves. 23- For if any be a hearer
of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face
in a glass: 24- For he beholdeth
himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he
was.”
(James 1:22- 24 KJV)
Notice these great promises of God in
the Scriptures; “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all
that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21- Unto him
be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.
Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20- 21 KJV) Prayerlessness may disable God’s exceeding
abundance blessings for us. And we can disable God’s working power in us and in
our churches by disabling our own communication line. Jesus said; “And
whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be
glorified in the Son. 14- If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” (John
14:13- 14 KJV)
In our prayer, we can glorify God and we
can make God move in our behalf. We can make God do things for us when we ask
in His name and for His glory. Jesus said; “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask
what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15:7 KJV)
