“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Proverbs 11:6 King James Version)
Someone asked me years ago, she said;
“Pastor. Why is it, it’s just too hard for me to live by faith?” I had that
same question recently. But it has been our life or our lifestyle, and we felt
the same way. It’s just too hard to trust the Lord and to entrust everything in
His hands. Living by faith is like walking in a dark room or in a dark tunnel
with just a dot of light ahead of you, and that dot is God. All you have to do
is to walk in the dark with your eyes focus on that dot, not knowing where you
are leading and what’s on the ground as you take a step of faith. You may fall,
but you believe God is with you and He will help you go through all the way
until you reach that small dot of light. (Psalm 116:1- 12)
How about the wealthy and those who are
in the jungle, do they need faith? Who needs faith when things are going great
and well, and when you have everything in your hands anyways? Why live by faith
when your bank account is fine? Why step and walk by faith when you have
everything under control, and you have the power to turn your own wheel to the
direction you wanted to? The business may be doing well, your stock is on the
rise, and you’re healthy as a cow? But how about your faith, is it strong? The writer of the book of Hebrews gave us light on
why we need to live by faith, and in everything we do must be by faith and not
according to the flesh.
Apostle Paul wrote; “For as ye in times
past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31- Even so have these
also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32- For God hath concluded
them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.” (Romans 11:30-
32 KJV)
